He would spend time at the bar where he worked a part time job. Soon as he quit his job he escaped to Queens. He knew there was a gang there that was heavy and probably would except him. The Grizzilies did need him since he had streetsmarts and muscle. This was a escape from reality for Gerard so he can leave the slums of Soho and do something with his life that he would like.

Biography: Barrett Hackney was always a messed-up person, but he at least tried to keep it hidden. He lived in Riverdale, the Bronx, his whole life. When he reached junior high school, he fell in with the wrong crowd and became a delinquent- stealing, lying, fighting, etc.  In high school, he befriended two fellow delinquents, Jared Worth and Kaoki Sato. They hit rock bottom one fateful day in the summer of 1977. An old man called them "a bunch of freaks!". They proceeded to beat him to death, eventually smashing his head in with a cinder block. The trio ran away from home, and discovered the gang night life. Inspired, they started their own gang, "The Stygian Boys" (stygian means demonic) and have ruled Riverdale with an iron fist ever since.

One night he witness a shooting by a gang called The red hook shooters. It seems the gang took it upon themselves to murder a lone member of The Saratogas at night. After he saw that shooting he knew he had to stay tough in order to survive the streets. Also he would have a strike against him since he was african american/ native american. Therefore cops probably would have performed police brutality on him just because of his skin color. Baby bear is Quiet and strategetic sometimes lazy but manages to get the job done. After he made The Grizzilies he had control of Queens Long island.
