Yes, I am an unabashed subway geek. Meanwhile, I wait anxiously for the completion of the 2nd ave subway (finally!) in 2016! Counting the days!
I really can't believe that station closed...I've seen pictures and its so beautiful...the Transit Museum is fascinating...this museum is located in what used to be Court Street station in Brooklyn...I went there one time and even though you have to pay to get in but its really worth it...They have some old trains that felt as if I were in that decade whether it was the 1940s or 1979...but the ones there have been restored as if they're brand new...I've got to try the 6 train adventure to see the abandoned City Hall station...never knew anybody can do that since their so-called "fan trips" are a bit pricey...yes I'm wondering how the 2nd ave line is going to work out...heard that a few businesses along the way have to close or move out because of that but that line is really needed on that side of Manhattan since 2nd ave seems so far away when I have to get there

Oh yeah definitely I love the Brooklyn museum, actually I haven't been there in a while, gotta go again soon. The small one in Grand Central can be cool, especially when they have the huge model train displays. They had the "NYC films with transit" displays last year and had a Warriors costume (the Asian gang). The City Hall Station used to have tours but they stopped the tours after 9-11. And yeah the 2nd Ave subway is so needed, if you use Central Park as a middle, there's three subway lines to the west of it, and the one 6 line to the right, and there's more land to the right! Makes no sense! That's why the 6 line is the most ridden line. (And why we got the new trains first lol.) Took over 70 years (literally) after the first plans to finally get the line started, but better late than never .

Yeah its true...its better late than ever...the same way with some other fixer upers they should do around the city...like the extension of the 7 line...make the F train an express train in Manhattan and Brooklyn and the V train should be the local to the stops that the F train used to stop on...however its unfair that businesses and residents have to go just to build the 2nd ave subway...I don't see why they should do that...its not as if they're building an elevated train...and even so why should the buildings stop them?...they're building under the streets not over them...and why do entrances have to be huge...they can always have the classic look of the rest of the entrances have in the city
As for the "NYC films with transit" I heard about those but unfortunately never was able to go...but it seemed like a good experience...i remember the advertisements would have John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever...or Sylvester Stallone and Billy Dee Williams in Nighthawks...or Robert DeNiro in A Bronx Tale...however the information that was put up for the gang costume was wrong...i know its somewhere on this site...and the wonderful part about celebrating the anniversary of the subway system (October) is being able to ride on those old trains...If you have luck you might be able to catch one of those trains...except they were restored like new...I had the opportunity to ride on those on my way to school awhile back...lucky for the people who were able to take pictures...I don't think they've done that with the buses yet...it would be really cool if those trains remained with all that artwork that was so famous in NYC...now that can really feel like you're living back in the day 8)

Thanks stevenFallen I'll definatley will take a look at that. Its always good to expierence something with such morals and meaning. To be one with history and feel its power. Its always good to feel the power of the time stream go right through you. Its a magnificant feeling. Its a great aura of knowledge to know. Thanks a lot.
