Part 3
A Rescue Mission
The two cops shoved Ajax into the backseat of the squad car. If looks could kill, the glare Ajax was giving them would?ve melted the flesh off their faces. The quiet night air was suddenly shattered by a piercing scream. Ajax looked over his shoulder out the back window. A familiar blond haired girl was screaming whilst being chased by three guys in the distance. He did a double take when he realized who that girl was.

?Honey??

She was screaming for help as Griffin, Franklin and Blaze kicked at her, pulled her hair and in general made it look like they were attacking her. Five of the cops ran over to them while two stayed behind with Ajax, the undercover cop and the one that hit Ajax with his nightstick. Ajax was too busy watching the fight to notice a girl sneaking up on the two cops. He heard two thuds and looked to see Indigo standing there with the bat he threw away earlier. The two cops were out cold. Indigo apologized to them and took the keys off the policewoman?s belt, climbing into the car to free Ajax.

?Well,? She said, sorting through the keys, glancing up at Ajax. ?Fancy meeting you here.?

As the cops neared Honey and the three guys, she shouted ?NOW!? She jumped to her feet and the four of them turned on the cops. Griffin swung his boombox and clocked a cop over the head with it, knocking him out. Franklin kicked a cop in the back of the knees, sending him down and kicking him in the stomach hard enough to knock the wind out of him. Blaze screeched like a banshee and slammed his head into a cop?s, shattering the cops nose. Honey tackled a cop around the legs and punched him repeatedly in the face, putting him out like a light. The last cop Franklin knocked out with a blow to the back of the head, and threw him on the cop still gasping for air. The Whispers exchanged high-fives and ran back to the squad car.

Indigo finally found the right key and undid the cuffs.

Ajax grinned. ?F****in? A.? Indigo smiled and shook her head.

?Come on.? She said, leading him out of the car, where Honey, Griffin, Franklin and Blaze joined them.

?Nice going, Indie.? Griffin said, stooping to give his cousin a hug. ?You did great.?

?Heh, you guys ain?t such wusses after all.? Ajax smirked.

?Oh please, no need to thank us.? Griffin responded, dripping sarcasm. ?If anything, you should be thanking Honey. The whole thing was her idea.?

Ajax looked at Honey, who ignored him.

?Come on, let?s go.? She said. ?Before the cops get up.?

The Whispers and Warrior ran off through the park, dodging low tree branches and leaping over bushes. They stopped at the edge of the park.

?We should cover up our colors, or something.? Franklin suggested. ?So we?re less easier to spot.?

Honey took off her hoodie and tied it around her waist, covering the log with the hood. Indigo took hers off and shoved it into her shoulder bag. Franklin and Griffin turned theirs inside out so the logo wouldn?t so. Blaze removed his hoodie, turned it inside out and held it out to Ajax, who looked at him oddly.

?To cover up the vest.? Blaze explained. Ajax took the hoodie and put it on before they continued down the street. They walked a little ways apart to look less conspicuous. Ajax walked up alongside Honey.

?So why?d you go through all that to bust me out??

??I felt sorry for you.? She explained, glancing at him as she walked by, although she didn?t sound very convincing. He put an arm around her waist, his hand resting on her hip.

?Oh really?? He asked, his face moving closer to hers.

?Yeah, really.? She moved away from him and walked faster, talking over her shoulder. ?Keep walking, soldier boy.?

?The cops!? Blaze hissed, spotting three squad cars in the distance. Griffin and Indigo ducked behind a nearby bench. Blaze and Franklin kept on walking casually. Honey leaned against a wall and yanked Ajax over by the jacket.

?What the he-? He started.

?Shut up.? Honey tilted her head up and covered his mouth with her own. Getting the idea, Ajax pushed her up against the wall. As the cops rolled by in their car they saw two guys out on a walk, and some couple making out. They drove off. Griffin and Indigo came out of hiding and Franklin and Blaze stopped walking. Ajax and Honey?hadn?t stopped ?hiding?. Indigo blushed and pretended to be occupied with something on the sidewalk.

?You two can stop now.? Blaze finally said, snickering. Honey broke off the kiss and wriggled out from between Ajax and the wall.

?Let?s move.? She said, walking away, the others following.

Ajax looked at Indigo as they walked. ?What the hell is her problem??

Indigo looked up at him. ?Huh??

?Honey. What?s wrong with her? One minute she likes me, then she hates me.?

?Oh?yeah, she?s like that.? Indigo said, shrugging. ?I guess after all that crap she took from her dad it?s hard for her to decide whether or not she trusts people, ?specially guys.?

?What was wrong with her dad?? Ajax asked.

?He was a real jerk.? Blaze answered for Indigo, having heard in on them. ?He didn?t want a kid so he left Honey?s mom, Karen for awhile, then when she was fourteen he moved back in. Honey hated him for leaving, he hated her for being born, so he hit her and her mom all the time, claiming Honey wasn?t his even though they have the same eyes. In short, fighting back?s what made Honey who she is.?

?Cause if someone?s gonna hit me, you bet your ass I?m gonna hit ?em back.? Honey said over her shoulder, making them all jump.

?How does she do that?? Indigo muttered under her breath.

?Good hearing.? Honey responded.

An hour or so later he six took a pit stop at a run-down convenience store. The only thing they actually paid for was a pack of cigarettes, everything else was shoplifted while Honey ?flirted? with the guy behind the counter. Blaze snitched a lighter while he was at it, to add to his collection. Honey flashed the clerk one last fake but traffic stopping grin and they were gone. They found an alley between two stores in which to take their break. Blaze removed a cigarette from the carton with his teeth, lighting it. He gave the cigarettes to Honey who took one herself, borrowing Blaze?s lighter. She offered them to Ajax.

?Want one??

Ajax just reached over, taking the cigarette between her lips. He took a long drag off it and placed it back in her mouth. ?I?m good.?

?Get a room.? Griffin muttered.

?Up yours, skinhead.? Ajax sneered.

Griffin bristled, but Indigo managed to intervene.

?Come on, guys, please don?t fight. We have to stay together if we want to get home.?

Griffin scowled and got up, the other?s following. Ajax glanced at Indigo.

?Still wondering what the brat?s doing in a gang.? He muttered.

?She can?t bop, but she?s a fast runner.? Franklin said, having heard him. ?Plus she makes a good burner and we have her back. Even Honey treats her like a little sister. Who knows, maybe you will too.?

Ajax snorted. ?Yeah, right. I hate kids.?

?I?m sixteen, thank you very much.? Indigo responded icily.

?Woulda thought you were thirteen the way you were making puppy eyes at Snow.? Ajax smirked. Indigo turned red and walked up ahead. Honey scowled at Ajax and elbowed him in the ribs before walking up ahead with Indigo. Once again he managed to get on her bad side. He swore under his breath as they walked off into the dark towards the subway station.

(Holy crap it’s finally the last part! Geez I’m lazy…I personally think this part's kinda crappy... But if you read it anyway keep your eyes peeled for the obscure Simpsons reference!)
Part 4
