Re: who is luther talking to?
I'm not sure if anyone has said this (I didn't feel like reading through 6 pages of posts) but I always thought Luther was talking to the DJ. "The Riffs want 'em alive, but we don't." They were sending their own message out because it's just like if you make enough noise no one will think that you possibly did it if you were that gung-ho to go out of your way.

Re: who is luther talking to?
I think it had to be some dirty detectives, most likely with a tatical street crime unit or something. Maybe Luther or the Rogues as a whole got cuaght red handed doing something serious and cut a deal with the cops to become a police informant. As such he could've easily given the cops the location and time of the conclave. In an erlier psot by Harley , she says that the gunshot could've been a signal fot the cops and that he just shot Cyrus for the heck of it.
I have to disagree with the part about Cyrus though, the cops might've put the Rogues up to Cyrus's murder as well becuase they knew it would bring whatever plans he had brewing to a halt. They probably also thought it would do dome damage to the Riffs as well, though that would've failed judjing by how smoothly they operate once Masai takes over. And if the gunshot was just supposed to be a signal, then Luther could've hung outside the meetimg and fired it into the air or better yet just run and tell the waiting cops, while the other Rogues attended as not to bring suspicion. After all, the rule was that only nine guys from each crew could attend, not that 9 dudes was manditory.
But instead he kills Cyrus because he knows his death in front of all those mesmerized faces would be enough of a shock to keep most from even registering the gunshot imediately. The confusion would've made perfect cover to eliminate any apparent witness (good thing those lights came on...too bad they only prolonged the inevitable... The Fox will be missed
)

Re: who is luther talking to?
Like a lot of people are saying, he probably was checking home on their turf telling his fellow gang members . He probably didnt tell them the truth because he didnt want them to worry.
Re: who is luther talking to?
Luther was a patsy, he was being used by the man - everything Cyrus stood against.
CIA sanctioned hit anyone??
CIA sanctioned hit anyone??
What's the matter - goin' faggot?
Re: who is luther talking to?
I always thought that Luther and the Rogues were hired as hit men by the Mob or some biker gang that they were auxilaries to (all of that black leather) so that would have been the first phone call and the second phone call was to the DJ to get an update as to where the Warriors were.

it could of bean the riffs

Re: who is luther talking to?
Did you watch the movie ? Why would he call the gang who's leader was killed by him ? It must of been someone who doesn't know about gangs because he said " This guy Cyrus had an accident " all the gangs in the city know that Cyrus was the Riffs leader but the person he was talking to on the phone couldn't of been a gang member.Truro Warrior wrote: it could of bean the riffs :)
