Re: any body here skateboard?
Well I used to skateboard and don't now and you will agree with me why I don't. A) I don't like the music anymore and listen to rap (I know you don't after listen to a certain type of music to skate but my friends like rap and mc like me) and i smashed my front two teeth on a grate and broke them in half so now my front two teeth are half real and half fake

as Ajax would've said, whata buncha whimps...haha!
you gotta be able to take the pain(or avoid it real well) in order to deal with skateboarding. outside of numerous scrapes, bruises and twisted this or that, i've broken my ribs, my shoulder, my wrist but i keep on going. much like surfing, skating is a lifestyle.

Re: any body here skateboard?
what does the music you listen to have anything to do with skating? i know lots of people who skate listening to rap on their ipods. every skate video in the last decade has rap music in it. skating is about having fun with your friends not what kind of music you listen to.Dowley ov wcb wrote: A) I don't like the music anymore and listen to rap (I know you don't after listen to a certain type of music to skate but my friends like rap and mc like me)

Re: any body here skateboard?
I skateboard. I have for about 2 months, I can actually do stuff.
I can ollie, pop shove it, heel flip, and nose stall. Thats all so far but I have been practicing almost everyday. I love it. Its incredibly fun. I usually don't worry about tricks though, I usually just go skating around town with my friends, and now we've got a rep with the police. Nothing bad, so don't lock the topic. Just that we should be wearing helmets but instead we wear old fashioned tribly hats like everyone did back in the fifties. The cops are really nice to us though, its kind of cool, most the cops in our town were getting into trouble like us when they were our age, they just say that if we want to skate without helmets and cops are around and they spot us, we should run like nuts.

Re: any body here skateboard?
Wow. Pretty bad dude. I've only been cut in skateboarding injuries, but I guess it catches up with me, when I backyard wrestle!! Skateboarding I have gotten bruises, and cuts. Backyard Wrestling, i've broken my left wrist twice and my right write once, I broke my left ankle once, I broke all but my little toe on my left foot, I've also bruised up my ass quite a bit, and bruised my face pretty bad, after getting it slugged so many times. But most of this stuff I would normally have allowed but the only reason I allowed it was to impress my big bro, Alex, who was the foundation behind everything with our backyard wrestling stuff. He was amazing. I always thought he would make it as a wrestler, but now all he's interested in is more violent sports, and alcohal. Its upsetting, I've never had a body like his, in tip top shape, I'm quite flabby and lazy, and I mean, he's misusing his body so much. It's just depressing. But aside from all this, I go out every evening and practice skateboarding, because if I do get pretty good my brother might appreciate something I do, and then I will finally be pleased with myself, because being a good drawer and not really anything else, I don't really have any respect from my brother. I just hope some day I can prove myself to him. It most likely will be one of those days that you will remember the rest of your life. Thanks for reading what I had to share.Oxygen wrote:oh man skateboading, has ALOT of injuries.I broke my arm, coller bone, and tore up my knee so bad I needed surgery twice.I also have a friend who broke his back going off a jump over a river,he's not paralyzed though, were just going to phisiotherapy togetherhaterist wrote: as Ajax would've said, whata buncha whimps...haha!
