You're second in command...

Post by KillerMime »

It's been brought up before about where were the rest of the warriors when the remaining delegates finally made it back to CI.  But let's say you were one of the warriors who stayed back in coney, and you're second in command with Cleon gone.  You have about 110 warriors under your command.

You're at the hangout listening to the radio(WBOP) and suddenly you hear the DJ send out her nowhere to hide message, courtesy of the riffs.  Now you know every gang in the city is going to be hunting not only the rest of the delegates, but you and the rest of the gang as well.

What would you do?

I'd send your better scouts, mainly the ones who are better at not being caught, around to nearby turfs to keep a keen eye out for the delegates and like everyone else said to lay low and keep heavy muscle nearby and etc.
THS IS 2 BIG RESIZE IT TO THE CURRENT SIG RULES

I gotta agree with Scurvy Dog, it'd be hard to resist, but a search party would just put more Warriors in danger. The best thing to do would be to try and convince your allies of the gang's innocence and keep your soldiers together at HQ in case of an attack.

This makes me wonder about the Warchief position though. Is it just a temporary back-up plan for a leadership emergency for a war party on a mission? If it is, wouldn't whoever Cleon left in charge of the turf be the actual second in command of the Warriors, and thus become the Warlord after his death? I would think so becuase, even though Swan is an incredible leader/soldier, you have to admit that sucessfully commanding a 111 dudes would be much more challenging than getting 7 guys back home, especially if theres a possiblity that other sets are lokking to march on you.

I'd have my scouts up in high buildings with throwing knives and I'd keep all my heavy muscle in my hangout and all the other soldiers surrouding the hangout and I'd pick each gang off. We would not go down without a fight. BTW, awesome topic KillerMime.

You have the WArchief postition right---all gangs have a president, and a vice president, the V-P would stay at home, and he would be gang leader upon any problem with the President, Death, like Cleon, or arrested or what ever--Swan being Warchief was just an appointment made for that specific trip--when they hit home turf--he was not in a real leadership postition with the gang anymore, unless they would appoint him again, during a meeting.

That's what I figured, thanks for the opinion :D Can you imagine how bad azz the dude Cleon left to run the turf is if he's considered a better leader than Swan

Being that it was ridiculously late, I always thought the other warriors were sleeping.  Because if you think about, wouldn't there be a bunch of warriors waiting at Coney Island when the remaining warriors came back.  I am sure Cleon did leave someone in charge, but he told him not to stress, because we will be back in no time. Yeah right.  I am sure the warriors at home took their jobs seriously, but hey these guys have there own lives to lead.  Yes I know its a gang and you have to stay loyal, but knows how the warriors were trained.  Maybe they were prepared for an invasion, but they did not jump to conclusions.  They probably did what a true warrior does, sit tight, contemplate, and see what happens.  Sought of like a jedi knight.  Rather tahn put warriors in danger, they waited pasiontly and trieto be prepared for the unexpected without underestimating anybody.  I believe the warriors at home were smarter than we think, after all they are the best.

Easy answer -- You start hitting the delegates cell phones and make sure they're ok!!!!

Seriously, great question...  Other than the zillions of Turnbull AC's and Riffs, where were the rest of the Warriors and other gangs?

I gotta agree with scurvy dog on this too, sit tight and wait for some word from the delegates.  One thing that i've wondered since reading the book though is why didn't one of the warriors who were at the conclave call back to coney, not necessarily to get backup or anything, just to fill the rest of the gang in on what was happening.  In the book they call their youth worker to try to get a ride home and it just seems like letting the rest of the gang know what was going on would be something that they would have done.
What about me? I got the big one...
