First Thoughts on The Warriors

Post by Rush2112 »

Back when my sister was bothering me to watch this movie, I though it was going to suck.  But when I finally had enough of her bothering me to watch it, I did, and I was amazed.  The action in this movie is great.  Compared to some other action movies with big riot scenes, this ones the best.  I loved the ambush in the bathroom.  Another thing that got me to really like this movie was that it was right in my backyard.  Right there across the brige from New Jersey and I could be there.  Anyway, sorry if this topic is going nowhere.  What I want to say is that this is the best movie I have ever seen.

I was 6 or 7 at the time and my dad was watching it on T.V. I had just come into the living room after playing Double Dragon II (my favorite game back then), so when I saw 3 dudes beating the crap out some mute baseball players in face paint packin' bats I was hooked instantly

Scary.  Those Furies were running and looking pretty loony.   They scared me.   Granted I was also scared by the dragons in Adventure on the Atari 2600.

I saw this in a movie theater, a year after it came out due to the distributors pulling it out. Once back, my brother took me (his girlfriend worked at the theater) to go watch it. I had saved the newspaper clippin' that announced the shows for a whole year until I was able to go again. I still have that newspaper add, it's in spanish. The clip showed the back of the Warriors when they are entering the subway at the start of the film. The way they looked (black and white of course), the shadow the ink caused on the add and their patch, I just had to wacth it! The impression they caused on me was more that what I had bargained for, not just them but the Furies as well!!!
