the new york dolls are an amazing glam punk band which paved the way for punk bands, and disgusted everyone by cross dressing lol.

ooo.. i do enjoy the New York Dolls, the first album is a must have for any punk... well any rock 'n' roll fan... favourite song has to be the first song of that album "Personality Crisis"

NY Dolls are one of the best bands ever!

The first album is a masterpiece- the second is very good but doesn't quite make it.

after much searching for the first album, i had to get some shop owner to order me a copy which im picking up on friday, "too much too soon" must be a super rare cd if the price on amazon is over £40!!

morrissey i feel like you like all the bands i do, i can always count on ya to reply on my obscure band topics (before you say they arent obscure, believe me they are in this day and age!! lol)

Have you seen the footage of them playing Jet Boy on The Old Grey Whistle Test?

Some of the best music TV ever! The NY Dolls rocked out!

I think its on one of the OGWT DVD compilations...

Did anyone see the Arthur "Killer" Kane documentry?? I thought it was pretty good.

Big article on the Dolls in today's New York Times.  Mentions that Morrissey (from the Smiths..not our member  :)) and Mick Jones from The Clash were but two people to be heavily influenced by the Whistle Stop appearance.  The new Dolls record seems to be getting postive reviews.

dolls still rock, the fact that after the death of 4 members they are still going on strong is amazing.
i will probably have to buy the new album soon when i get money, dolls are one of my fav bands ever along with radiators, slaughter the damned etc.
