Re: Favorite character?
Id have to say Secretary in terms of non-dominators. I liked him because he thought deeper than his colleauges. He was also an important member of the Delaney Thrones.
My favorite Dominator would have to be Papa Arnold because he kept everyone in line and always used stragey and planning. I cant remember if it mentioned how old he was, but id say he was about 18 or 19. He sounded pretty tough by the way he got beat up by the Thrones and still beat everyone to Coney. I also like Hinton a little bit, probably because they explained more about him than any other character.

Bimbo was my favorite. He was pretty close to Vermin in being the clown of the gang. The way the scene in Riverside ended killed me

I have to say that drunk nurse in the park, she was hilarious!
Lookin' to get some but only on her terms.

Re: Favorite character?
Yea, Its funny how Dominators try to be so tough and slick throughout the book and then three of them get the crap beat out of them by a drunken middle aged pedophile nurse with a purse!
Granted, she wasn't exactly a small woman.

Re: Favorite character?
My favorite character was of course lunkface. He was like a wild animal who was hard to control, and it made the dominators a harder time getting back. I like him bacause every time i was reading i thought, how are they going to convince him, how are they going to calm him down?
Re: Favorite character?
My favorite is hinton because i can relate to him when he thinks the family is testing him around every corner.
Re: Favorite character?
I think we can all pretty much relate to our o Hinton naturally. I mean we all have our own personal demons that we have to deal with in life. When he comes out of that tunnel a new man, it reminds of those native American tribes, that isolate themselves, and take a certain drug to put them in a trance. They than face their fears, and all the wrong doings in their lives. When they come out, they than come out as a more purified person. This is the transformation I think Hinton went through. His soul was clensed when he came out of that tunnel. He got in touch with himself, and now has a true warrior fighting spirit. He now has than capabilty to make it htrough any obstacle, and not get boxed in.

Re: Favorite character?
I guess I gotta say The Junior, because I'm young and I feel that he was a more sensible guy who was more of a kid caught in the middle, and I feel the same way a lot of the time.

Re: Favorite character?
Good point sleeping dragon, The Junior represents the innocence that is trapped in a world of confusion. Its hard to find a sense of belonging in a struggling environment. The junior is the type of kid, you hope snaps out of it and finds a better path in life. Just like Hinton. Hopefully he brakes free from his chaotic environment.

Lunkface. Hands down.. 8)

Re: Favorite character?
I'd have to say Hinton was my favorite character. I was able to relate to his struggle as he was separated from the rest in the tunnel; when he was going through the psychological transformation, trying to prove himself to himself. It was easy to relate to his uneasiness, his sadness, his breakdown, and ultimately his acceptance and conquering of his inner demons and personal fears. I found that scene to be pivotal in his "growing up".
He had it the hardest on the way back home, and once he got there, it was another dark reality contrasting against the darkness he'd just experienced the night before. I really felt for the kid.
