RAP VS ROCK

Rock, you can understand what they're saying and in rap most of them talk about the same thing over and over.

AND  in rock you can? when i listen to rock all i hear is them talking about the devil and screaming, i cant understand what they are saying in all those screams

Maybe you should rethink this thread, seeing as you don't even know what rock is. I wouldn't even go so far as to call heavy and death metal the category you described, more doom/black/satanic metal really.

I choose rock though, mainly because personally, as a guitar player I think it takes more talent to make a rock song than a rap song. There are several instruments that all work together in harmony, whereas in rap all you really need is a beat and vocals.

Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of rap/hip hop, such as atmosphere, timbuktu, jedi mind tricks, beastie boys etc.

Yeah I don't listen to death metal where they scream a lot I just can't stand it. I listen to regular rock.

I like old rock, but for now I like rap the best. No matter what you all say, rap does take talent.. lots of talent. The beat must harmonize with the rap itself. And dont get me started about writing songs for hip-hop. (Writers block anyone?)

Hard to choose. I love alternative rock music. Linking Park, Greenday, Simple Plan ect. I also love rap. I can't choose. I suppose It's a tie but rock is winning because I can relate so much to some songs. :doubt:

Come on Bobo, thats a little harsh I mean.. AHH who am I kidding? Its funny and I'd have done the same. Like he said, rock is not Slipknot, Misfits, Six Feet Under, etc. Its bands like Ozzy Osbourne, and Led Zeppelin. Maybe Ozzy Osoburne mentions the devil in a few songs, but hes not screaming it, so that you can't make out what he SINGS. I capitalized sings because in rock thats what they do. In your little rap stuff, anyone can do it. In 50 Cent's case, you got a speech problem and you can convince people you got shot nine times, then you got one hell of a shot. And we all no he didn't get shot nine times, I think what he means (but can't pronounce, the moron) is that he got shot AT nine times, and got hit around one to two times.

fiddy also got hit loads of times with bottles filled with piss at the reding festival a coulple of years ago, i think that goes to show how many people actuall dislike/hate him

For those of you who don't know Rock does not instantly metal....Led Zep, Zappa, Silverchair -  I can't be bothered to go one because I would be hear all day. Not if I listed the rap artist though, most of whom are dead or just plain asking for it.

all this slipknot and simple plan stuff is too....crappy. i turn on the music channel nowadays and its garbage, all of it. and all this rap is stupid, they talk about how bad thier lives are in the ghetto and their killing people, when their really living in california in a mansion. and they can be the ugliest people ever but still get all the women......its pretty stupid. the only rapper i can tolerate is Eminem, and kinda 50 cent.

Yeah I like Green Day's music and My chemical Romance's music but I like rap way more than rock. So my vote is for RAP.
