Marilyn Manson
I have always liked Marilyn Manson, from the first time I heard my father playing one of his CDs a couple of years ago. Though I liked his music back then, I didn't really think much of it. But now that I am older, I am really starting to get into his music more. I was just wondering if any of you like Marilyn Manson, too? If so, please share your thoughts about him & his band...

Well personally I don't mind how he dresses or anything, that doesn't effect his music.
I like Marilyn Manson a bit. He's definately got some good songs and a wide range of talent, compare The Fight Song to In The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death for example.
I think that he should stick with his origionality though, even though I liked his coer of Sweet Dreams I think he should lay off doing covers for a while.
Overall I like quite a bit of his music though, DESPITE the fact that he is "gothic". For we all know, music is based ont he appearnce of the singer

I picked up the Smells like children album as a kid and thought it was pretty good, bought a few of his other albums and although they aint great theyve got some catchy lyrics and riffs, most notably Beautiful People,Sweet Dreams(cover) Disposable Teens.
Now look at what you find here in the big city!!!

Re: Marilyn Manson
Interesting. The albums I have are "Mechanical Animals", "Portrait of an American Family", "Smells Like Children", "Antichrist Superstar", and just the other day I purchased "The Golden Age of Grotesque", and I would say that "Antichrist Superstar" is probably my favorite. I like most of the songs that are on it. But the other day I heard some techno rip-off of "Sweet Dream (Are Made of These)" on the radio, so I wasn't too happy with that, but what can I say? I also bought his "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell" book when I bought my new CD, and it's a pretty interesting book so far.Ajax warchief wrote: I picked up the Smells like children album as a kid and thought it was pretty good, bought a few of his other albums and although they aint great theyve got some catchy lyrics and riffs, most notably Beautiful People,Sweet Dreams(cover) Disposable Teens.

Re: Marilyn Manson
Uhhh...what? Don't go actin' like you know Manson better than me! Who's the one that's reading his autobiography, that just happens to be in words from him? That's right, me not you. He got some ribs removed so he can give himself oral sex? If you haven't learned by now, that's just a rumor. Here's some proof. In his "Long Road Out of Hell" book, he tells a story about how the rumor probably got started, I am not gonna pass it on, though, because it's not appropriate at all, and I would be breaking the rules. But here's the exact words that it says after the story - "Maybe that's where the rumor that I surgically removed my ribs so that I could give myself fellatio started." (chapter 8, page 118) and if you don't believe that I took that straight from his book, go to your look for yourself at your local library. And if you can't find the book there, go to your local book store and have a glimpse for yourself. It's not true. Besides, you wouldn't be able to prove that it is. So I suggest you don't ever step up to me and try to talk to me about Marilyn Manson that way, EVER AGAIN! I can understand that you may think he's a freak and you don't like him - but you don't have to rub it in, especially considering that it's a little obvious that I love him, he's my inspiration, and I really look up to him (username, avator, signature). What more is there to say? May Marilyn Manson live on forever!VERMIN!!!!!!!!!! wrote: He's a freakin weird o.He got boobs and got his ribs removed so he can...Never mind. But i do like his song The Dope Show even though im christian.

My work here is done.

I'm sorry, I lied, my work is not yet done here. I also just have to say that I've seen some of the topics that you've created on this Music Chat forum, and if I didn't like the artist(s) that you mentioned in that topic, I would just move on. I would never leave a post saying how much I despise the artist(s) mentioned. I am just not like that, because I don't enjoy offending people, and putting them down for what they like, which I see that you do. Don't think that I haven't seen what you've said about other people or their interests. I have seen most of the negative things you've said to others, and if I were you, I would stop acting immature, and thinking it's cool, because it's not, and it's caused you to make enemies, and will create more to come.

Re: Marilyn Manson
i'm a lil sad my meeting manson story got deleted from here during the sites 'back in time" problem last week. .... I read "the long hard road out of hell" when it first came out and found it to be way funnier than i expected. funny in a good way. the stories of his growing up involving the satanic house and friends older brother were great. i thought the part about watching doom generation and wishing he were with Rose McGowan to be pretty ironic. the site rules make it hard to discuss in detail, but im sure anyone who's read the book knows what im saying.
and Manson-Cryptorchild, i like yer new mansonite makeover, cute. =D> but next time you post tons of manson pics in this thread, post me some Pogo

Re: Marilyn Manson
Thats not true.I dont like offending people. And MM offends me with the clothes he makes for example the anti Christ shirt aparently im a christian. You may not be and i dont got a problem with that. And when you say you dont like the bands i like your probally mentioning Creed. But i dont care because i love Creed they are very talented in there own way.MM is talented too but he offends me when he puts down Jesus who i worship.Spider One from Powerman 5000 sounds just like MM exept he dosnt dress like that here is Powerman 5000 mp3s:Manson-Cryptorchild wrote: I'm sorry, I lied, my work is not yet done here. Re: Marilyn Manson
Okay. Well since you would like to know why he turned against the Christian religion, most of it is because when he went to Christian school while he was a child, the teachers preached so much about the day Jesus Christ was supposed to come. And that if you wanted to stay alive, you would have to sell your soul to the devil, and symbolize it by getting a tattoo on your hand. And it made him so scared, then the day never came. So the nightmare that never came true is part of the reason he decided to become AntiChrist. And no thanks to your Powerman 5000. As for you paperdollorphan, I'll try to get some pics of Pogo to post for you, A.S.A.P.!VERMIN!!!!!!!!!! wrote: Well to tell you the truth Cryptorchild...Marilyn Manson isnt really a good hero.I mean he is not really a good person to look up too...Well...unless you are a devil worshiper. But i heard at my church he use to be christian.Im really curious why he stopped being christian.
