I've got to disagree with everyone else. By all means, theres nothing wrong with a female warrior. I've also got a problem with the whole "women shouldn't be fighting" attitude the rest of the board has. Women are just as much male's equals, and should be given the same opportunities.

the main reason i cringed when reading about the female warrior is my first thoughts were 1- the karate kid 4 or whatever with the girl and 2- oh no i bet this means a love story on the side. which are both pretty scary thoughts. ive read a few posts on the site from people romanticizing swan and mercy...but im just not buying it. the warriors does not need any extra coed appeal.

I'm all for the idea of a female Warrior as long as she'd be just a Warrior and not one of the nine delegates. The Warriors are fine as they are and I'd be a bit disappointed if they replaced one of them with a female for no reason.

That's true, and if one of the Warriors was replaced then it just would be awkward and anger a lot of fans.

I think that the only way a female Warrior would work would be mentioning one briefly or showing one in an intro or something. Working one into the plot wouldn't make much sense.

I, for one, absolutely agree with you. IMHO - there's no need to have one of the female warriors going to the conclave. it would be an unnecessary distraction and take away from the original story. there are movies where it's fine, even important to have women fighters, like in 'kill bill'. but 'the warriors' is about 'going in there like everybody else, 9 guys, no weapons'.

i think even the warriors themselves were against women fighting. for example, at the end, swan tells mercy that he's going to lead the rogues down to the beach and he wants her to cut out through the back. she keeps arguing with him about going along 'till he finally more or less says, what ever. if they thought women should be rumblin' he would have handed her a weapon. NO WOMEN WARRIORS!

I agree with the two of you. this "Female hero" bullcrap is starting to get annoying. And i agree with warriorchick, in saying that the warriors are against fighting against women. except for fighting the Lizzies. That was a cool scene. But even then, only three chicks got wasted. I think the only female "warrior" should be Mercy. She drafted along with the warriors because she got tired of the orphans.

I think that they should keep everything the same, just remake the movie. They should leave everything else alone, but just modernize it abit. We really dont want to see radio DJ's havin afros. unless, your stuck in the 70's
