i'm using logic and common sense for that time period. i don't know about you, but i was actually alive back then(yeah i'm old), grew up in brooklyn, lived in NYC most of my life, live here now, so i think i have a better idea of how NYC cops were back then, not all cops, but NYC cops.Lazyjoker wrote:Think of it this way, not every single cop was corrupt in the seventies and not every single cop is corrupt today, but use some common sense. The most reasonable answer to what happened to Ajax is that he got thrown in the slammer. I mean yeah, there is a chance he could have been beaten to death, but by what we see in the film it's more logical to determine that he was arrested.
again my opinion is based on how the cops acted throughout the film, which would suggest that the cops weren't looking to arrest anyone but rather beat the crap out of any gang members they ran into. did you here one cop in the entire movie say anything in the lines of "you're under arrest", "you're being charged for...." "let me read you your rights", "you're going to the station"?
no. the only thing i heard out of the cops is "stop right there" and "freeze" while they ran around with their nightsticks in hand looking to beat someone down soooo.......
lastly, if you want to disagree with someone, its cool, but don't make backhanded snide comments like "but use some common sense". i didn't insult your intellgence when i replied to your post, so next time, just state your opinion without trying to insult me in process of proving your point. just a friendly word of advice.
