I wonder why they've never made any spin-offs since making the Warriors, I think it would have been pretty cool if the makers of The Warriors had of made a film titled The Riffs, just basically showing us how the Riffs became so powerful etc, maybe showing the buildup to the meeting, that would have been rather amazing if they done that like 2-3 years after the Warriors came out.

Yeah! How about a movie about Cleon, and the beginning of the Warriors... I would see that one too.

I like those ideas but logically no one in Hollywood would have put money behind similar projects being that The Warriors wasn't a big money maker.....

A Warriors prequel? That would be very cool. The origin of Ajax, Cleon, Cowboy, all of them.

I'm a writer/editor by trade and I think any new Warriors story has got to be a prequel or sequel in orientation. The 2006 movie set in L.A. will, what, have only the name in common with the original? Lame.

It's OK to obviously cast different actors in the Warrior roles since lots of time has past and they, or I, don't look the same as 1979. Cameos would be cool for at least a few of them.

One thing unclear in the original is that it seems they carried pieces when they were banging in their own turf. The lack of guns made it unique. A 2nd movie would have to deal with guns somehow and they kinda ruin the unique qualities and make it a run of the mill shoot 'em up flick.

i would love to see a follow up movie..set in and around coney island and the rest of the locations from the first movie ..

could make it with a story along the lines of, what happened when the rogues were dealt with etc...did all the gangs unite and take over all the city...?

just an idea...lol pretty rubbish but an idea.. :D

Well personally i think a spin off of the warriors would be lame. What i really wanted to see was a direct sequel to the actual film. Same characters, same locations, same script...add new actors and voila!Movie magic reborn. Yet somehow the film fell into MTV's hands and i died a little. For one the remake is in L.A.The most cliched gang movie location since boys n the hood. I can see it now...the warriors, starring ice cube, Usher and x-zibit as cyrus. The film will most likely be loaded with rap music and a whole lot of slang. Say goodbye to the Turnbulls graffitied up bus and say hello to an escalade full of uzi totting hoods. Thats of course just my prediction of the up coming remake. The Warriors is one of those films that is amazing the way it is. Much like Dawn of the Dead was.......just look at the flop of a remake of the movie.

I think a spin-off would be a good idea. By showing either how the warriors became, how they recruited the gang members and how all the gang and turf war started. But in another sense, i guess its a good way of keeping the viewers wondering how it all came down to turf war, how the other gangs were formed and what happens next to the warriors.

I always thought it would be cool to see "what came next." Surely The Warriors would feel a little anger towards The Riffs, not to mention the remaining Rogues (OK, Luther was resonsible and he was most probably tortured and killed, but lets not forget this is gang warfare). I like the idea of seeing a full stength Warrior outfit hunting instead of running.

It's a shame that one wasn't made as in my opinion its too late to make one now (the fans would never accept it for one thing.) OK it might have somewhat tarnished the name and reputation of The Warriors, I but sure do wish it had been done anyway.

im really not looking forward to the remake...especially since the location will be L.A ..

some movies like you say should defo not be touched...dawn was defo one of these movies and warriors being another.. :(

it will never capture the same vibe/magic that the original has... never..!
cant really imagine baseball furies running through compton..

Yeah it's like Escape from new York and then Escape from LA similar but not as good as the original. The 2006 Warriors sounds like there'll be not even that much in common.

Yeah, i really have no hope for the remake, but of course i'll go and see. Probably on the first day aswell. Why?Because thats the fan i am. That is...unless i don't kill tony scott before production ends.
