Marcelino Sanchez's death

It says on this site that Marcelino Sanchez (Rembrandt) died of cancer in 1986. But I read on IMDB, about two years ago now, that he was murdered.

They've changed it now, but it originally said that he was a singer, and one night, while he was on stage, an audience member pulled out a gun and shot at him, so he pulled out his gun and shot back, seriously wounding several audience members in the process. Then it said that he was found shot dead in his appartment about a week later.

I definitely didn't imagine reading this, so what's the story? Did IMDB mistake him for someone else? Or is there some truth to this bizarre story?
It sounds bad, but I hope he died of cancer. I wouldn't like to think that he was murdered, not after all he went though to make it back to Coney.

IMDB says cancer, 1986. They're usually quite accurate.

I had an e-mail about a year ago from someone who knew him, and they said that he died from cancer, and gave the exact date.

Yes imdb were mistaken,there was another guy called marcelino sanchez who was a singer and died in 1992.so they have just updated their records.

War cheif who emailed you and can you gave anymore info about sanchez's life and death.

It was quite a lengthy e-mail from someone who knew him, but I lost the e-mail in one of the frequent crashes on my computer (now not so frequent due to RAM replacement!). The e-mail said that he died from cancer (I can't remember which type) and gave the exact date. Pretty sure it said he was a good guy, and remembered the Warriors fondly. If you know any more info, please post it, or indeed if you knew him, please make contact.

At the age and time era he probably got Lung Cancer from smoking( The tobacco industriy really was active then and through the 90's also)

i wish he didnt die he was too young to die but if he was alive i know that his voice will be him in the game.maybe he will be famous

That really blows that he's dead it's a real shame he was excelent as Rembradt in the warriors.

yeah rembrandt was my fav warrior it sucks they talk about him on the new dvd. but i think he would have wanted the warriors to be so succseful now so he probably happy somewhere

Yeah, he died of cancer. its really too bad, he was a great actor, played different roles and played them all well.

then you're wrong because the Marcelino SÃ¡nchez that played Rembrandt in The Warriors was born on December 5, 1957 and passed away on November 21, 1986.
