Well, I've only saw the original version, so I'd have to go with that one.

personally i like the original better ,im not into the comical cut scenes youll see what i mean when you watch it,it spoils some of the scenes eg when the furies scene begins,my biggest dissapointment is that it the direcors cut didnt include the deleted scenes that was my biggest problem with it

Well, the differences aren't so enormous but, the killer for the new one is when Swan, Ajax, Snow and Cowboy exit the station and Ajax screams, "where are they?" Cutting to the other warriors, instead of the Fury, ruins a very powerful moment.

Agree 100% on the Furys scene. The first thing my son and I both said after the movie was we did'nt like the way that was changed. A few of the comic scenes were ok but I think they should have left them out. Sound quality was a big plus but I'll probaly stick to the original. And no del scene what were they thinking!

Yeah those parts were it fades out then goes like a cartoon really annoys me, but whoever else in my family who's watched it think it's better that way, the thing that annoyed me the most was the beginning with that part were Walter Hill appears and starts mumbling on then it's like "2000 years ago, this army blah blah blah........., there's was a story of courage" etc, that is totally un-needed. The main thing though is the extras, those 4 documentries are a great little insight into the movie.

I think they may have cut some scenes to make it less violent or hardcore, its only a 15 rating in britain now because of the cuts, this annoyed me for some reason

Yeah, I would say that the new version isn't worth much. But I'm really enjoying the bits and pieces of information given in the featurettes. Especially, the James Remar view of Ajax and the creation of great moments like Luther's bottles.

I prefer the original, too. I agree that the Baseball Furies transition is awkward. I also dislike that the ending sequence is now just a static screen, which I find to be boring, visually.

Surprisingly enough, I went out and bought The Warriors Directors Cut. The only thing I didn't like was the comical little things. Kinda almost ruined the intro to the Furies when Swan and Ajax and them came out from the subway station.

Obviously, the change isn't significant.....so it's still a great movie.

I'm a fan of comic books and artwork and I thought it accentuates the movie perfectly. It makes sense because obviously it's got that comic book feel to it. I thought the beginning works perfectly also, as it shows the parallels with the greek hisotry.....and it also brings a deeper meaning to when they reach the sea. Die-hard fans already knew all this stuff, but most viewers don't. They don't over-do it either, only 7 scenes or something.

With the Furies part, it's almost unfair to say it takes away since the original is all we've seen and loved. If your gonna make a director's cut, I think it only makes sense to make a change there.....since the Furies is such a memorable moment in the movie. I still find it to have similar impact, as you still see their surprised faces. Not much is cut out, if anything.
