WOW how is this for a totally stupid thing to say....

"So they need to get back home through twenty-plus miles of hostile territory, and the subway stations are being watched by cops and the other gangs? Well, they'll just forge ahead using the subways anyway, or walking."

Well...that's the plot of the film! They are stuck, they are chased and have to make it home! How else are they supposed to get back? Fly?

"Even though there are plenty of parked cars visible it never once occurs to these lunkheads that they could swipe one of the cars and drive home."

Maybe no Warrior is good at hot-wiring? Then maybe the reviewer would say "well, car-jack then," but damn, every single freaking film made takes at least *some* license.

I do agree about the KISS influence tho lol. But really, this is a reviewer who just has something against the film. I mean, hey you don't like "The Warriors" that's all fine and dandy. But that doesn't make it a bad film. Damn this film is even discussed in college classes! And the characters, I thought the film's characters had been definied pretty nicely - everything they said, it wasn't just a soundbite, it was actually something that character would say. And calling the film a "cult-wannabe?" I don't think it set out to be a "cult" film. But the best cult films turned out to be cult films - they weren't created to deliberately be one. The fandom and mystique of "The Warriors" has grown over time because it's a great film.

And the entire freaking movie is so damn quotable!

To be honest, I think this reviewer is going faggot.

This review is so hostile that there has to be something else to it. As there is a big mistake in only the second paragraph, "Soon the word is out that the Warriors are to be killed", this review can be dismissed...strictly low class.

The Warriors are a completely uninteresting group of one-note characters. Ajax (James Remar) is the horny guy who keeps getting distracted by women they meet along the way. The others don't even have that one note to their benefit, making them essentially a faceless group of nonentities about which it's impossible to feel or care much of anything.

First of all this guy is a tool. He can't even give a correct decription of his so called "one-note character." Ajax was more of a tough guy looking to fight than a horny guy getting distracted. I'm suprise that with all his one-note characters he could only make three. If he had half a brain he would have actually watched the movie with his eyes opened and realized the qualities each character possed.

The fact that they are the stupidest group of mopes ever to join a gang doesn't help.

This guy needs to be smacked in the face for this comment! I bet his favorite movie is some chick flick.

Don't jap me for saying this but the same thing occurred to me. I was thinking "what's this obsession with subways? Why the hell don't they just steal a truck?" But that passed quickly and I just went with it. Besides, a stolen vehicle would make them even more of a target for the cops.

The only way they probably knew to get back to Coney Island was by train. They had never been to the Bronx before so they might have got lost finding their way home. Just a thought.

Eight guys in one car? No that doesn't look suspicious! Unless they swipe the Roguemobile, then it would be cool....

hey, not a bad idea for the movie.....

Lol @ 8 guys in a car. Snow is right. They were having trouble reading the subway map, they deffinatley didn't know how to drive home. I think the whole scene with Cleon's girlfriend was to establish the idea that they had never been to Coney that way later on in the movie we would understand some of their decisions (taking the train). Plus maybe none of them knew how to hotwire a car.

Is it just me or did every outside scene seem to have no pedestrians walking around or driving through the streets.

The brainless reviewer, unsurprisingly, is unable to grasp that the film is an allegorical retelling of a story that already was highly metaphorical in its original form. It is not a documentary. It is not supposed to be any more realistic than Walter Hill's other tale of a warrior's journey through hostile lands, "Southern Comfort".
