I might as well start this off,
First off, I love The Warriors..
and This edition, had many surprises in itself
New Pictures,Great behind the scene commentary
As I watch the movie,You get the Greek Storyline from Walter Hill,it's different,
It's a story about courage!!
The Comic Book Outlines, made it intresting
Image
They did lots of zooming in,and zooming out, just to make it look different!!
But anyone who has seen this movie as many times as me,could tell right away, all of this zooming in,the close-ups,the quick-cuts,

What I did not Like was,

There is a slight pause when you approach this part
Image
and they are looking at the subway,I hope it was just not mines??
And The part when they get home, and you see the sun and the seagull flying by was cut off by a comic-Book Caption..That pissed me off,I love that surreal feeling after the long night they had!!
and they do it again, when they are walking down the beach?? in the end?
I know that I am probably forgetting a few things, but it will come back to me!!
Where were the deleted scenes?? I hate that you cannot view them individually??
And There are no Actor's commentary,I wanted to hear what they were thinking when they did it!!
And they did not even have the new trailer for The Dvd??
And I HATED MORE THAN ANYTHING WAS THAT STUPID TRAILER FOR P-DIDDY'S STUPID COMEDY DVD..WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT THAT
""""

Overall the main Highlight and the best reason to buy the dvd,
is not for the features,or the movie or the cast interview??
Can you guess the reason??
ANSWER: To see James Remar, repeat the line, that he made famous,20 years later!!
I'll shove that bat up your @$$ and turn you into a popcycle
NUFF SAID..HOLLA BACK

hey joepal, s'up T i just got back from circuit city, i picked up the warriors, and the new amityville. i know, i know, amityville is a remake, and everybody here, hated it! (sound's like the guys from men on film, from "in living color" HATED IT!!) LOL
but we've seen it already, and we liked it!! i like the old one too, but i thought the new one was ok! ;)
ok, enough of that!
i'll be honest, i'm not going into this with a very positive attitude!! from what i've heard, about it, but we'll see! after all it's still the same movie, just a little different, which could be ok, considering we've only had one version to watch, for the last 25 years!
i am more than a little dissapointed that all the deleted scene's aren't in it!
what are they waiting for??
the next directors cut, in 2030?
i'll let you know it about 2 hrs!! :D

Hey guys, Soldier, I hope you are feeling better bubba.....'T', that's the picture I wish they would of put on the cover, when the guys are waiting for the subway. The DVD did have new surprises, I was just happy to see the cast. Rating has to be 8.5, they could of done better with the special features and given us a booklet. :)

Argh! I was actually going to ask you about that. I have the same problem, HOWEVER, I actually have several different DVD players, and on some, the pause was non-exitant. Interestingly enough, when I put it in my default player this morning (which had the pause problem) the problem was no more. Strange stuff.

so it's not my dvd player!
i got a few skip's, and pause's, in music, and such.
overall, um, i don't know what to say, well, the only problem i have is, the no deleted scene's!!!!
the featurette's were very kool!!
but i still can't believe they did not include ONE deleted scene!!!!
i mean not one? come on!!
but, i did notice, like you said T, a few second's of new footage here, and there! nothing extreme, or extensive, but little flash's, a second here or a second there.
so that's pretty kool! 8)
and the music sound's really clean.
and i hate to say it, but the comic book wipe's weren't as ridiculous, as i thought they were gonna be!
so overall, i guess my only gripe is the no deleted scene's.

i know it's got the little wipe's with the red stripe, bit i have never seen any "comic book" wipe's!!
so which lead's me to my next question, dude, WHO ARE YOU????? LOL
i know, i know, you're either connected to this flick, or were IN the flick, or related to someone, or know someone who was!!!
it's ok, we'll still like you!!! and really, we won't bombard you!!!
(i don't think!) LOL
i know you won't answer, it's kool! (you've been asked, before!)
i still dig the pix, and info that you, and you alone seem to have! ;)
i'm just glad you chose to share all this stuff, whoever you are!
but again, i KNOW you're somebody connected to this film!
cowboy, is that you??? LOL

Ya know,SHM I was very vocal about my dislike for the film when it came out in April, but not because I thought it was a bad movie from a horror movie perspective.

I was very upset with the way that George Lutz was portrayed as an ax wielding lunatic who chops up his dog and tries to murder his family. Geez, at least wait until the poor guy is dead if you're gonna do such a blatant character assasination.

I can tell you from personal experience that George Lutz is a very nice man, who will always take the time to talk with someone or answer questions. Whether you believe his story or not (which I happen to - something happened in that house and after 25 years and several court battles no one has ever been able to prove it was a hoax), I still think it was wrong to attack him like that just because the movie studio doesn't like him (he won a lawsuit against them a while back).

Anyways, on another note, did you notice there were a lot of good DVD's released today. In Addition to The Warriors & Amityville:

The Best Of Abbott & Costello Box Set #4 - completes all the movies that were left to be released on dvd including A&C Meet The Mummy and A&C Meet Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

Kolchek: The Night Stalker - The complete series of 20 episodes now on 6 dvd's

Cinderella - Disney has a habit of pulling these things off the shelf after a couple of months so, get it while you can

Carlito's Way : The Ultimate Edition

Star Trek Nemisis : The Ultimate Edition

The Bob Newhart Show: The Complete First Season

The Interpreter

I could go broke this week

It's only in one of the featurettes, and has people talking over it. I was really disappointed in this DVD. The featurettes are good, but I wanted those deleted scenes badly. I've been waiting for an extended cut of this film with those scenes re-integrated into it since I saw the television cut hosted by Joe Bob Briggs on TNT so many years ago. As for this "director's cut," I do not like the comic book transitions - it hurts the flow, weight, and tension of the film. By the use of these transitions, it takes away from the gritty reality of the film, making it more "Sin City" like. It just doesn't wholy feel like the same movie, it seems more removed from the drama and tension of the piece by making it more of a comic book fantasy than a stylized gritty reality.

Also, I wish they had gotten more cast members together for this DVD, but I know a lot of them have just vanished. Some didn't do too many things before for after this film, and a couple are dead such as Lynne Thigpen, Marcelino Sánchez, & Dennis Gregory. Roger Hill is still lurking about some place in NYC, and I don't blame Tom Waites for not involving himself here. Ultimately, I am glad I was wise enough not to sell off my original Warriors DVD in anticipation for this one.
