You guys are not going to beleive but i found the book at a yard sale :p How lucky am I. The book is soft cover and it has a few pictures of the movie. I cant find the publisher. ill keep looking

The Warriors, by Sol Yurick, is a pretty good book. It is more realistic, grittier, darker than The Warriors movie, as they are a gang, they do immoral things. Another good book by Sol Yurick is The Bag, and if I remember, it shares characters with The Warriors (only one or two)...

Cochise I read The Bag too, I didn't know it had Warriors character in it until Minnie said that her son Hinton painted the pictures she had with her, and it totally shocked me when I rad the character that inspired Cyrus had lived and was still a feared figure, but not as powerful as before. What edition did you find? I was able to get one from the 1970's, 1973 I think.

Well the book may say one thing, but, ULTIMATE D.C. DVD SPOILER alert---

but the people who made the movie say another!!

The fire was an accident, and had nothing to do with gangs at all.
When they did the research for the film, the transit authority said one of the only reasons they would stop a train would be a fire---so they had to have a fire to stop the train to start the Warriors on their journey running through the night.
It was just a movie technicality based in reality. NO Gangs.

It is part of the commentaries on the Director's cut.
