You think if the Warriors needed to get home so bad, they would have jacked someone's car. i know the movie would have been like 20 mins that way. but the only way they traveld was my foot and train. Why not Cabs, Bus's? anyone eles ever wonder this?

This has been brought up before, but I didn't see any cabs or buses anywhere in the movie, or any cars driving around aside from the Rouges. As for steeling a car, I forget who said it, but a lot of people who live in New York just don't bother learning to drive cause of the transit system, so maybe none of the Warriors know how to drive.

i think they would have been able to if they got there hands on something but with all the cops around people were probably on high alert. also the only car that they could have taken they blow up in order to escape the orphans

And they'd have to jack two cars so they all could fit, and they would draw a lot of attention to themselves driving that way. Oh and you can't really sneak through someone's turf in a car I guess.

I'd imagine that it would be much more difficult to sneak through someone's turf on foot than in a couple of cars. But as Vermin said, "Who wants to hide?"

So although it would've been much easier for them to steal a couple of cars, and I have no doubt that they would be able to do that & be able to drive them, I think it's just one of those movie moments which calls for "suspension of disbelief."

This discussion reminds me of seeing Kill Bill with my wife. As we walked home from the theater, we had the following conversation (warning: contains spoilers if you haven't seen Kill Bill):

Me: "One part I had trouble with was after she escaped from the hospital and found that truck, and then spent 13 hours in the cab of the truck 'willing' her toes and legs to start working. Thirteen hours! Of course in that time, the hospital staff would find the two dudes she killed, see that she's missing, see that Buck's keys were missing, and find her in the truck."

Her: "Oh, you had a problem with that, but not with her single-handedly killing all those Crazy 88 fighters."

Me: [pause] "No, I didn't really have any problem with that."

Did it ever occur to you that seeing as these are gang member who (most, if not all) have never been to the Bronx before that they might not know how to get back by car?

What I meant was like, are you gonna SNEAK through hostile territory in a loud, noisy car that can't always HIDE when cops come near, cant jump into alleyways. The police were probably stopping all sorts of cars, especially that late at night.

There were only eight of them, so they dont want to be seen by a gang that could easily call in reinforcments, thats why they wanted to parley with the Orphans. They only acted all cocky stomping through another gang's turf after they had told them off and kinda said "what the heck, why not?"
