Re: Furies Jersey on ebay

Halloween is just around the corner and I know some of you will be looking for baseball furies outfits. Instead of making a new thread, I thought i'd bump this old one and put a few current links for jerseys.

CcWizard hasn't listed any for a while, but if you want an embroided patch, our old friends at A1 still has a link for it (I thought he stopped selling these a long time ago)
http://a-1americanflags.com/patches070.html

Most of the jerseys on ebay have printed logo's, but this one is embroided. (personally, I think the logo looks slightly too small, but that could just be the perspective of the photo)

This is the alternative with the printed logo

These guys have the official liscenced costume that INCLUDES the socks AND has knocked a few dollars off the price

Its intersting to see the price differences from what we were paying out when this thread first started.  Also keep an eye out for the old mondotees full costume on ebay.

It will be my second (the first is the official halloween costume one).  I'll post pics of them together and let you know the differences.

i actually dont like the new furies jerseys on ebay.

1. the patch is half the size it should be

2. the color of the logo is way too orange - this is not how it should be

It looks like one of the regular vest sellers has jumped aboard this particular bandwagon.

Nice quality patch (maybe a little too big?) but the actual shirt looks a bit too white (which is a problem of most sellers.  The old mondotees one got it spot on).

This is the highest price jersey ive seen on the net, but at least it gives us fans another option.  I wouldn't feel so guity shelling out the extra bucks, as this would be something I would wear for casual dress.

Just compared it with a few screenshots from the movie, and the patch size looks fairly close, even though the actual movie jersey was a printed image and not a solid patch.

Review part 1: (splitting it into 2 parts as ive purchased the 1 in the post above as well)
Got my second jersey in the post today.  Took just over 2 weeks to come from singapour and clear customs.  The large size is wider and longer than the halloween large size.  The material is man made and feels a bit rough on the skin.  Its thick and seems duriable, but not as comfy to wear than the halloween.  The patch on the singapor is half an inch less in width than the other, but it looks even smaller as the black border is far thicker, so theres less room for the colour.  The patch itself is not the same type of patch on the A1 vests.  Its done by large strips of material sewn together rather than a fully embroided patch (Looking at the dvd extras, I believe this is how most of the gang patches were made as its far cheaper and less timely).  The material of the patch is the same as what camping gear is made of; looks water resistant.  It is too deep an orange in colour though.  The printed patch on the halloween is a dark yellow.

I'll post comparative photos once ive got them transfered from my camera.

Bottom line: The singapor shirt is good value for $30 new, but for purists that want as close a movie replica as possible, give it a miss as you'll be dissapointed.  Ideal for casual wear and is put together well.

As you can see, the singapor one on the left is far wider and longer.  Both jerseys are size large.
The signiture costume on the right has wider spaces between the black stripes, which I don't think look as good IMO.

The patch on the left is from signiture costumes.  Its the bigger of the 2 and the colour is better but you can see the stripes through it, with it being printed on.  Here you can see the difference between the thickness of black borders.

This new jersey is the same width as the signiture halloween costume, but is a little longer due to being a proper jersey shape.  Simular material and feels quite thick.  You can feel the weight of the patch when your wearing it but its still very comfortable.  The patch is roughly an inch and half wider than the halloween one.  The stripes are the same as the singapore version. This is by far the best of the three I own.  Heres a shot of all three patches together....

Going by the new pictures, it looks like the Singapore sellers have changed the colour scheme to a closer match to the film.

The yellow looks a lot better than the orange.
Still a good cheap purchase for those starting off their replica outfit collection.

I like the colors. They look good. Wish the embroidery was better. They are getting there.

I've just took delivery of a Furies Jersey with a free Turnbull AC's jacket from Satan's Mother on ebay, for £51 they were a bargain and the fit of them both is spot on. This offer is still on and at £51 is a good price for any fans who are thinking of starting a collection.

By grouping all his items together, looks like he is getting rid of his costume inventory. Hopefully it means he will be doing more. Hmmmmmm MOONRUNNER JACKET????

Looks like mondotees have started selling the baseball furies outfit again. Thought they had a cease and desist order from locoape/signature costumes.
They have a selection of smaller sizes as well, which may be benificial to some of you as the pants of the official licensed costume are frikkin huge.

Heres the current ebay links....

Also seperate embroided patches have resurfaced. Dont like the colour though.
