IF there was to be a new moderator, It would be decided and picked by the existing moderators.  Theres no voting system.  Of the moderators we already have, there's at least one checking in everyday.  Scurvy Dog was here yesterday, Kartoon online a few hours ago. Gonzo and Grammecy sporadically.  Just because you don't see them, don't go thinking they're not watching.

I don't think the 5 post rule is being enforced anyhow.  Also some topics are posted in the wrong areas and older members are reprimanding new members instead of the mods.  I guess this place runs itself anyhow.

Swan is a solid member of this forum, and though things are a little more relaxed and vacant than in the past, any help is appreciated by the moderators. There's a TREMENDOUS amount of chaff we have to sift through, and that little "report" button makes our job easier.

4nik8, I think everyone should help the Forum in order to keep it less "Nebulous", also if that Help is the "Report Button".
Anyway, I don't like "Reporters" (like you meant in your post) too. But it's necessary, infact in order to me people here is "Overdoing"... 10-15 posts a day, posts in wrong sections... etc...
As I already said a lot of guys are "Overdoing"... and you know very well what I mean.

BUT, and NOW I'm REALLY Chiding you: Mussolini, The Gestapo, etc... well, if you don't really (even if you think to know) know the "Meaning" of Certain People and "Bad Things", don't make Comparison (also if it's funny) anymore.

Said this, I don't hold a grudge against you and/or anyone else.
Just Love the Forum, I think/hope like all of you (not: more than or less than) and in the Right Way.

yeah, my attempted humor was a bit heavy-handed there...

im a bit on the fence on this, but then again i did start this post. swan mentions "overdoing it" but in my opinion its the "overdoing it" that has been drawing in new members and keeping them here. so i'm not really sure what's worse or a greater offense- not contributing at all or "overdoing it". i guess the median would be 5 posts, but then again im confident that if members were polled most would object to this. again, my opinion, but the members that have been very active should be praised for keeping this forum going - just look at the stats for Nov and Dec 09 compared to the past 12 months - major improvement. yes, we could have done without some posts, but for the most part a lot has been contributed recently compared to when this forum has "dead" about a year ago. this is not a personal attack at anyone in any way, just how i feel on this topic. we rarely, if ever, hear about the other 3,000 members who don't post at all, but recently been hearing about the 5-10 who actually do visit on a dialy basis and keep this going.


lets look at the numbers real quick - its safe to say we have aboiut 10 members who visit everyday - 5 posts a day will be a total of 50 posts for the day - that will make for a very boring forum which imo, will llead to people not coming. back when we had at least 50 members a day (potentially 250 posts a day).. a lot more entertaining!! just makes sense to me to change with the times....sustainability 101!
