In a word..... NO.

Just finished watching it.  It really struggled to keep my attention.  It was like a poor feature length episode of most haunted.  If hearing someone stomp on the floor and watching someone pull a door with some fishing wire scares you, then this is the film for you.
Can you remember when Blair witch first came out and every fanboy was running round their back gardens impersonating it, filming it on their phones and posting it on youtube?  Thats what it reminded me of.  Ive no idea how this got picked up for worldwide theatre distribution.  It looks like the wooden spoon winner in a student film club competition.

And there's two endings.  The new one in the cinema is shorter and a bigger letdown.  I prefered the original one with the cops.

I'll be extremely generous and award this movie 1 out of 10.  I had more entertainment watching a spider climb the wall while I was sat having a bowel movement.
Save your money and go and rent cannibal holocaust instead.

I really enjoyed the flick. I think it is best watched in a packed movie theater. That made the movie for me. I thought it was well made especially for the amount to make it. I thought the theatrical ending was scarier, but the cop was more realastic. They say they have a vault of endings and I hope they put them all on the DVD. I give it about a 6 1/2 out of 10.

I know somebody who saw it and she found it scary. I think how frightening a movie is all depends on the person watching it and what scares them.

My fam had Netflix for a while, but my dad kept ordering kiddie movies.

I asked him to order Rocky for me because I never saw it, and, he orders Flicka. For those not in the know, it's of those schmaltzy movies about "A GIRL AND HER HORSEY OMG CAN THEIR FRIENDSHIP LAAAAST?" I was kind of annoyed.

Anyway, that's my Story of the Day.

It wasn't so much it being scary, but like I said seeing it in a packed theater and the crowd's reaction made the movie for me. That and the budget it was made for is incredible. I loved the flick.

I hate a packed out cinema (I associate the word "theatre" with watching actors on a stage) when theres a horror movie showing.  I hate the people sat within 50 feet of me.  More specific, I hate all the dumb girlfriends thats been taken to see the film; whom cant go ten minutes without getting up in pairs to the toilet, constantly texting on mobile phones and not knowing when to keep their mouths shut.  I went to see a film called the strangers (a rip off of a film called "Them")  It was spoiled by stupid girlie types purpously screaming at the boring talky parts of the film so they can show off to their teeny peers.  A sea of bright cellphone screens is also an atmosphere killer.
Strangers was dire BTW.

first im gonna say avoid cannibal holocaust.. or at least think about it before you do or watch the dvd version where you can remove the animal slaughter.

i thought paranormal activity was a well made little film. in the cinema it was quite fun but i watched it when out the country for the first time on my own so when we got back to a hotel with a bed and door after staring at a bed and a door for 2 hours i was a little freaked.

i also liked the subtext of the film ie how the relationship is the paranormal activity and everything. i couldve explained this better nearer the time but its all about the boyfriend and her.
