Swans original screen worn vest
Re: Swans original screen worn vest
Whether it is real or not I don't think many can afford this item. Do you (anyone) think if it is authentic it will increase in value or maybe because of the video game and the 30th anniversary that these Warriors memorabilia have reached their peak?

Re: Swans original screen worn vest
I think it is or has hit it's peak (as much as I do not want to say it). If it was still really popular, the mezco figs would be doing better and we would have a series 2. I hope not because ANYTHING WARRIORS is great.triscender wrote: i hope its not at its peak. im praying for a real remake

Nah, i'd say over the years it'll increase as they become harder to come by. We're in a global economic slump at the mo, so that might have had an effect on its price.
Btw: the Cochise vest that is privetly owned in this link http://fret12.com/mt_pplarge_vest.html
belongs to Mark Tremonti, the guitarist from Creed. Its not the cochise vest from golden closet as that one had poor reproduction patches. This cochise vest patch set looks identical to the one on the swan auction vest.

Still looks like the WARRIORS letters were stitched on to poplin and not a fully embroidered patch.Ninth Delegate wrote: Nah, i'd say over the years it'll increase as they become harder to come by. We're in a global economic slump at the mo, so that might have had an effect on its price.

Well the profiles auction has just started and the vest is still listed. I emailed them twice with the screen comparisons showing that it is not Swans vest, but I guess they don't care.

Looking at this more and more it def looks like the ROCKER was printed on canvas or polin. An embroidered patch would not fray like that.

Re: Swans original screen worn vest
I think the lettering is/are seperate peices of material cut out as a solid shape and attached to the canvas rocker. This would bend and be more flexable on the vest. Looking on the dvd extras where they show 4 actual movie ganb patches, none of them are fully embroided. The only embroidering on them is the simple lettering. While on the subject of those 4 shown patches, whats the best way to change black coloured stitching to a lighter colour? Watered down bleach maybe? The dvd extras shows a big close up of the electric eliminators patch and its background is a shade of blue. I'm gona give my patch a bit of a makeover to get it a bit closer to movie accurecy. The teeth and cracks on the skull will be no problem, but theres not much I can do about the left hand side lightning bolt. All I can do with that is paint it in, but i'll still be able to see the raised area of the embroidery.LIER ONE wrote: Looking at this more and more it def looks like the ROCKER was printed on canvas or polin. If you've ever accidentally gotten bleach on a clothing item, you know the effects are often inconsistent
i'd experiment with a very diluted bleach solution at first...

The blue looks like felt also, which means you would have to change the whole make-up of the patch. I took my eliminators jacket to my taylor and asked to add the gold to the "bolt" and they said they do not have the machine. Being in NYC I am going to look for a patch maker in midtown who can do it.

Re: Swans original screen worn vest
I'm wary of using bleach incase it bleeds into the other parts of the patch. I think the black background looks better but a black outline around the skull wont show up. I think I might do a reverse option and leave the black as it is and give the skull a blue outline. Good 'ol gold paint will solve the lightning bolt flek problem.

Re: Swans original screen worn vest
The vest was sold for ten grand plus $1.800 tax and auction fee. Someone had plenty of cash spare. Congrats to the new owner.
