candy store location found!!!
candy store location found!!!
I was talking to a friend of mine last week, and he told me that one of his co-workers used to work down the street from where the candy store seen in the film was located.  The scene I am referring to is when the Rogues pull up to an outdoor candy store, and Luther makes a phone call.  He told me that the scene was shot down in the East Village at 17 First Ave.  I made a trek down there a few days ago, and there's a locksmith company there now.  I just wanted to pass this on to the fans who have been keeping track of the filming locations.

Re: candy store location found!!!
Thanx alot, phillykid, for the tip.  I went to googlemaps and found the street view. It also shows who's at what address.
According to this, Speedy Lock & Door Co. is at 17 1st. Couldn't make it out in the photo. Fine Line Tattoo's sign is the most prominent (21 E. 1st), but here's something ironic: East Village Candy Store is at 19, next door to where we found little Ginny, who, btw, looks really good today. Right across the street is Roger's Garden Deli (18)
With the exception of Speedy's, which phillykid just said is still there, some of these could be wrong. Don't know how current the photo is. As any NYer knows, there can be a small business next to your stoop one day, and you don't know when it's gonna fold or relocate.
1st Av., at this point, is one-way north. In the movie, the way the Roguemobile was facing would indicate 1st Av. was south-bound. Was it south-bound back then, or just for the movie? Dunno that one.

In response on how I found the candy store location, if you notice when the Rogues pull up to the store there's an awning that shows the name and address, Harlyn's Stationers, and the number 17, and I also freeze-framed that scene to check the architecture of the building next door on google street maps and it matched the scene.  I did read in another post that said the candy store was on Ave A and E 2nd St, but when I checked the architecture of the buildings around there it didn't look like any of the buildings around that store, so that information is inaccurate, but the location is only around the corner at 17 First Ave, between E. 1st and E. 2nd St.

Not too terribly far from Mid-town. Closer to the Village (Greenwich Vil.). E. Village to be exact, about 5 blocks from NYU
