its not the miya calander even though that ends 2012 21s december its about solar flares fro mthe sun they get stronger each year by 2012 there should be one so strong that it  will hift the magnetictism in our planet which is becoming weaker through earthquakes and stuff

Back on topic: everything has to end. The Mayan calender counts as part of everything. If you saw a modern calender that ended on December 31st, 2009, would you freak out and hide in a bunker on New Year's Eve? Of course not.

A calendar ending proves nothing. As far as I'm concerned, the Mayans got bored and decided that there was no point in plotting any further. It's like someone coming up to you today and saying "Make a calendar for every month until the year 6000 AD." You might make some, but eventually you'd say "What's the point, this is so far in the future that I'll never be able to make use of it, and someone else can make a calendar beyond what I've done. For now, we have what we need." You must remember that this was thousands of years ago; nobody knew that the world would even reach 2012. The Mayans were really going far into the future with this calendar. There has to have been a point where they decided "That's enough. We're good on calendars."

i rember some callendar ended or something a few years ago or something i cant rember and my friend went out on the middle of the street and was like its the end of the world , it was suppose to be at some exact time and then that time past and everyone was like yer real end of the world.
And guys the world isnt going to end i wonder how many calendars people have made that have been gone through so yeah just rember just coz some greek dude or something (sorry i dont know anything about this calendar) made this calander thing and said ok its going to finish in 2012 it dosent mean the world is going to end.
