having no fear, now i have kids i am in a total state of panic most of the time if my girl is 5 minutes late coming home, society seems alot more ruthless these days!
cartoons like masters of the universe, thundercats, first few seasons of transformers, hong kong phooey, captain caveman, wacky races, dungeons and dragons!
being amazed by the latest toy to come out like a transformer or getting the millenium falcon for christmas.

I remember climbing trees and not being afraid of falling and getting hurt.  But now, hell, I think about twice before climbing a tree.

I miss loads of things

I miss being 16. On a saturday I'd have my day all planned. Grab my friends and hang in Glasgow at the back of borders book store on the big stone steps then when 5pm rolled around we go to The Cathouse unders (The Cathouse is a night club but on a saturday does an under 18's from 5pm - 10pm) and it was awsome. good music and good friends. I'd go almost every single saturday and I knew practically everyone in there but of course we all grew up and grew appart.

I really miss the old X-Men cartoon's too but I bought all 5 seasons of it on DVD the other day. Woo! The X-men obsession continues!

Scurvy Dog wrote: You know what's kind of sad about old TV shows like that sometimes? Sometimes you can find a gem from your youth that you have nothing but fond memories of, and pick it up on DVD - and then you watch it and it isn't as good as you remembered it.

Sometimes that happens when I find an old movie or TV show from when I was younger. I guess that's what they mean when they say you can't go home again.
I do know what you mean. When I watch the X-Men cartoons I sit and pick at bits (Cause i'm a massive fan of the comics)

The Cathouse... Totally forgotten it, but is/was that not thon big matt black building, that got closed/destroyed didn't it?

I may be totally wrong on that one ^^

I too miss my friends. My final year of school I couldn't be done with it. I took an apprenticeship instead of waiting and going to Uni, meaning that all my best pals have dispersed to the big Cities (Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling) and I don't get a huge chance to see them, and I'm stuck at home. Not to mention the fact that one or two of them have changed (and not in a good way).

It will all be good in the hood though, my only mate who actually stayed in the Highlands has an apprenticeship as well (also happens to be my very best mate) and when we turn 21 (well actually he turns 22 the day after I turn 21) we plan on going around the world. I'd far rather have six months going round the world than 3-4 years at Uni and then paying off debts for the rest of my life.

Naa the Cathouse still exists on Union Street but its now all re-done on the inside and all the DJ's are different so the music isn't as good. For a Rock, Metal and Industrial club they play waaaaay too much hip hop!

I really miss Pink panther waffers. They were ice cream waffers that had pink and white marshmallow on the inside and they were awsome! I'd eat one side of waffer then eat the mallow seperately....those were the days  :)

I can never remember the nightclubs around Glasgow, I think the Garage is the only one where I can remember where it is every time. Mainly due to the fact that my brother was in Hall's right next to it.

Cremola Foam, I miss that. Spent many a day at my grandparent's flat drinking that stuff, very surprised it didn't rot my teeth, then again, it probably did rot my baby teeth. 'Twas a long time ago.

I miss old cartoons from the 80s and early 90s they just don't make them like they used to anyone remember the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Thundercats those were the days, I also miss playing all of my old videogames, they're all packed away in boxes scattered about my room. Waking up on Satuday morning to watch TMNT and then play some Super Mario Bros. or the TMNT video game, thats another game I miss, the second level was so hard to beat, I have the emulator and I still can't beat it 14 years later  :x oh well
