What were the rest of the Warriors doing?
Apology if this has been done before, I couldnt find in the search on the main board page..anyways
I wonder just how long the Rogues were in Coney Island in the morning before the Warriors got home. I mean how long were there they there before we see the all famous scene with all the main pictures of the Warriors walking down a street in Coney with the Rogues hearse slowly folloing them. You would think having over 120+ gang members as well as affiliates that the rest of the Warriors that were still back in C.I. that didn't go to the big meet, would have noticed 9 guys in an old dodgy hearse driving around their streets..and not have been too impressed about not only hearing a rumour of a truce with all the other gangs in the city, then another gang just waltzing in...
maybe they were scared seeing the best of their gang was all away...? even if they were.. 120+ vs 9.. i like those chances even WITH a gun.
What you guys think?

I don't know, but I am surprised they didn't hear Luther and his boys go through.

Re: What were the rest of the Warriors doing?
I guess they were all still sleeping!
I mean,it is early morning when the guys came back and had the encounter with the Rogues.Even if the rest of the Warriors were expecting to hear the report on conclave from the 9 guys who went there,I think that meeting would have been called for the night after the conclave.
Also, even if the rest of the gang has heard the news from the conclave on the radio, they have also heard that the police is trying to arrest as many gang members they could,so they've probably decided that going out in the early morning and wearing their colours isn't exactly a smart thing to do.

if luther didnt shoot cyrus the warriors would have been home earlier than they did,and since luther shot cyrus, the warriors had a much longer time getting home so the resat of the warriors (120+) would have been up waiting for them

Re: What were the rest of the Warriors doing?
Yeah, this is something tat we all thought of. I suppose that it was to early in the morning. After all they are human beings to, who need their sleep. I could understand if somehow the warriors phoned home, and asked for help ahead of time, but that didn't happen. Probably none of them had spare change for the phone. Anyway, although some warriors may be disciplined, and patrol the mornings ounce in a while on certain occasions. But like I said their human to and just simple need their sleep.

Thats very true adam88, but still, I mean come on, these guys are gangmembers for Petes sake haha, you would think atleast SOME of them would be up roaming the streets either late at night or early in the morning, looking for a rumble or a chance to grab some spare cashadam88 wrote: Yeah, this is something tat we all thought of. Re: What were the rest of the Warriors doing?
You make a good point Danzel, I mean you would think some sort of other warrior life form would be wondering out there some where. Well who knows, maybe they were, but like I said in other threads, things happen for a reason, and those specific warriors were meant to face their demons on their own. If you read the warriors book, the character of Hinton, arrives at Coney early in the morning, and tags up their rival gangs turf. He also shouts and makes noise so they can come out nad face him, but still no one comes out. So it does happen. Maybe your right and perhaps some were out there, but unfortunatly not in that area.
Re: What were the rest of the Warriors doing?
Well I don't know guys, I mean all of us know all the Warriors were 120+(by Cleon speaking about Cyrus conclave and by the book)... but I'm almost sure that W. Hill wanted we understood The Warriors were alone that night!!!
Cause if I was a WarLord coming back home after a fuc..... night, like in the movie, and nobody was there waiting 4 my gang I would ban everybody out!!!
So this is why I believe there weren't other dudes in Coney, or Cleon said them not to wait 4!!!
It's only my opinion about director's aim! 8)

Re: What were the rest of the Warriors doing?
You got the point here,Scurvy(some of the Warriors listening to the radio). Then the only obvious reason why the rest of the Warriors weren't waiting for the 9 is that they were probably in their HQ,waiting for the other gangs attack.Scurvy Dog wrote: I think it was simply an oversight. Even though it was early in the morning, someone back at the Warriors' hangout would have been listening to the radio to see what was going down. They would have heard on the radio that everyone was after the nine who had gone to the conclave, and probably would have had their guard up in case any gangs close to them decided to invade - not to mention to back up their brothers if/when they made it home.

Re: What were the rest of the Warriors doing?
Ye Cyrus, but tell me a thing.... the morning after some or at least 1 "Warrior" from "HQ", could go out and check if his mates had come back or not!???
Anyone's opinion is ok, but this fact is too strange to me!
I mean, if there were other Warriors, half of them could defend the base... the rest could go and wait 4 the 9 from conclave, they could help them if there was some gang after... The question is: is it more important the base or the mates lives? I think the mates, but it's only my opinion! 8)

Re: What were the rest of the Warriors doing?
The thing is,if they knew that the Warriors were the prime suspects for Cyrus' death, they were probably expecting to be attacked by the Riffs, the biggest gang in the city, which means hundreds of attackers, not only 10-20.That's one of the reasons why I think they were all in the HQ,because they needed every gang member.TheSwan wrote: Ye Cyrus, but tell me a thing.... the morning after some or at least 1 "Warrior" from "HQ", could go out and check if his mates had come back or not!???

The second reson is the police.Knowing that the police is looking for a gang members,it wouldn't be very smart to go out on the streets and be an open target.
The third reason is,they couldn't be sure if Cleon and the rest of the guys are coming back that night or they were hiding somewhere. So what's the point of going to the streets and wait for them if they could be hiding somewhere for days.
And the last reason is,no matter when the guys come back, they would go to the HQ-hangout,so there's no point in looking for them, they know where to go.
