in the furies fight ajax duel.........

did anyone notice that ajax looked terriefied in the sort of duel against the yellow furie? he was confident at first with the phrase ill shove.......... but then when the furies guy started doing tricks with the bat the  he looked real scared and nervous.obviously thats normal but it was funny to see ajax so nervous instead of his usual cocky character.what does anyone else think?

that's true. it is kinda weird. but wouldn't you be scared if a guy with a painted face,a baseball outfit chased you and starts waving a bat at you

I don't think he was nervous, I think he was just waiting for what the baseball fury was going to do. I don't see why he would be nervous.....after all he is the one who wanted to stop running...he knew he was outnumbered.

I think he was just being careful. He didn't look nervous, he just was watching his every move. He went from watching the bat, to watching his eyes, and then back to the bat. He had to know when to charge at him.

And I must say he picked a very good moment.  :)

Ajax was definitely scared during the encounter with the Furies. Note the following examples:

1. When Swan suggested taking off, Ajax agreed without questioning it.

2. Ajax also sounded scared (not just winded) when, before entering the park, he asked "Did we lose those clowns or what?"

3. And, in this thread, how he looked a little freaked when fighting the Furies leader. Yes, he did. The Furies' silence and face paint was accomplishing its purpose - fear.

Yes, Ajax was scared, mainly of the unknown - but he was brave enough to fight anyway. He might have said he was sick of running from the wimps, but I think that was more a showing of his bravado in front of Cowboy than a lack of fear.

yeah,wow great comment and it is true thats why im mentioning it as a topic.1st good coment ive seen really.most other people have just said:``oh id be scared too´´ which is true but i mentoned that at the beggining of the topic saying it was normal but i was just metioning it was weird to see ajax so scared.

Wise man say "without fear, there is no bravery".  (I really need to cut down on watching old kung fu movies) .

Its scenes like this that humanises (is that a proper word?) Ajax's charecter, and stops him from becoming one dimensional.
