The Warriors for PS3

There's going to be a remake of the movie, then there ought to be a remake of the game.

Hopefully, the movie will be based more on the book rather than the 1970s film. I mean, there was so much stuff about the movie that totally butchered the plot of the book, then again, there were a lot of instances that closely mirrored it.

The game and movie ought to have teenagers play the roles like in the book, as opposed to men in their late twenties. None of them should be white. Everyone in the ConeyIslandDominators were either afroamerican or puertorican.

The game for the ps2 was awesome. The backstory was very elaborate and realistic, it fit well for the movie. But it annoyed me how surreal some of the characters and game play was. Like that chatter box guy. WTF? I mean, yeah, it's great that they completely made up this interesting comicbookish character but it was a little absurd that he was so much stronger than any of the warriors.

Another thing is that in the book, the C.I. Dominators were anti drug. In the game, the characters snorted "FLASH" to rejuvinate their health. It should have been like in the book where Hinton goes to Union Square and eats a ton of food, that would tend to make more sense. I mean I wouldn't reccomend anyone snorting anything if they wanted to "heal" themselves. It's a tad ridiculous I say.

Also, the movie had no sex in it, and not a whole lot of violence either. The remake ought to include the stabbing and the gang fuck.

The characters should be these realistic kids with real emotions and a real sense of authority, submission, dominance, power struggle. In the game and the movie, most of the characters were so One Dimensional. It hinted at their relationships with one another and temperments. Just barely. The acting was great for the most part, particularly the guy who played Luther. In the game, the voice actor who played Luther SSSSSSSUUUUUUUCKKKKEEEDD. Everything was sooo bad. It's like he didn't even watch the fucking movie. Anyways, in the book, there is no Luther. There are no Rogues.

The territory of the coney island dominators was six short blocks by four long blocks. The territory of the warriors in the ps2 game was tiny in comparison. And there were a lot more members in the warriors than there were in the coney island dominators. How is that believable? Another thing that pissed me off about the game is that after you completed the story missions, the entire game stood still. I was under the impression that you'd be able to take the subway to any part of the city and start shit with the other gangs and they could do the same to your turf.

The thing is, I expect games to be more than just a string of missions with mini objectives embedded into the main plot. I expect it to be a perpetual and expandable networking ongoing adventure that has too much in it to actually enjoy. It has to be saturated with detail as well as jack packed with game play.

The weaponn dynamic was interesting and very innovative. However, I wish they would have developed that a little further. Some ideas include using car parts, particularly the car antennea. Tire irons and hub caps (to be thrown like frisbees). I'd like to have seen "soft" weapons like bike chains, fire hoses, belts, etc.

I'd like to see a greater development of the "others" aka the pedestrian bystanders. They kinda ran around randomly and idiotically when you did something. I wish they were engaged in real activities instead of just walking around doing nothing. I also would have liked to have been able to go into all the subways.

You know what else was ridiculous about the game, there were a bunch of barbedwire fences and other barriers that blocked you off from other parts of the city, why wouldn't the warriors just throw a thick carpet over the barbed wire? Or why wouldn't the other warriors just give you a boost? Why didn't Ajax try to challenge Swan periodically throughout the game the way Lunkface did throughout the book?

Why weren't all the windows breakable? Why wasn't all of coney island, the boardwalk, and dino's wonderwheel park explorable outside of missions?

I've heard some talk that some of you would like to see a game where Ajax tries to make it out of prison. That's also a tad ridiculous. Ajax is a lost cause through and through. Same as Lunkface. They are all lost causes. There's no hope for any of them. Unless they got smart, put their effort into school, learned something about independence and the real world, then they were on a road to self destruction. Eventually they would have been killed on the street or arrested then killed in prison. As far as I'm concerned, Lunkface, Hector, and Bimbo were put in jail for a few nights, went to court, convicted of attempted rape and aggrivated assault. Lunkface in particular would have got the book thrown at him for his violent history and age. Ajax would have gone to jail for attempted rape and assaulting a police officer. If he didn't die in jail, he would have certainly been initiated into the gangs in prison. Going in and out of prisons until he eventually died, being stabbed to death most likely, at the ripe old age of 23. Bleak, but highly likely. It's romantic to believe he could escape prison, or that the other warriors would try to break him out, but Ajax was more a liability than an asset to the family.

I could seriously write my dissertation on the whole The Warriors franchise. haha.
YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET WARRIORS?!?!!!! YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MESS WITH THE ORPHANS?!?!?!!!!

yeah, this post was an earfull i didn't need, and a tad misleading with the topic being "warriors for PS3". perhaps it should be titled "my gripes with everything Warriors" under the general chat section.

Actually, I think this guy speaks the truth. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE the Warriors, but if they promote drugs and stuff in their game, chances are, they're going to get the boot from stupid folks that shit all over the democratic party.

Seeing as you have so many questions, let me ask you a few.

1. Why did you bother doing all this?
2. Does it ever occur to you that alot of games have things that make no sense?
3. Did you ever think they would have to change the movie a bit different from the novel, and make the game different from the movie to keep the franchise fresh?

You make sense at some parts, but really man, this forum is full of Warriors fans. If your going to diss The Warriors and us (for being fans), why don't you go round up your little hating possy, make a Warriors 'this didn't make sense' forum, and kindly get the fuck off our forum please?
Since when are you a diplomat?
