I was just thinking about what the future holds for this site when the faded copy of our movie is created. There will of course be endless comparisons and opinions of fighting abilities to name one. Who would beat who and so on. I would like to go on record as claiming all nine 79 Warriors to be classic and unique. I don't and won't ever care about the new junk. One last thing, I hope the 2009 conclave will be exclusively done for the Walter Hill bunch.

It's a can of worms. There are people that never seen the original movie and only know about it from the game. They get the wrong info from the game and think that's what the movie was. This summer we'll have a legion more of people that will see the new movie and still not know there was a movie in 1978. They'll be all confused. Some that see the new movie will think they saw a remake and didn't. So I got a feeling this summer will be freaky on this site with all sorts of people cruising around with half baked ideas about things.

i agree that a remake will never have the same fighting spirit as the original. The game, whilst fairly good, hardly does the film justice so I htink all should see the 79 film before anything else

I have just started coming to this site however I have been a loyal fan of the movie. I think that the remake will be good in some ways and bad in others, I think taht the fact that it is going to follow the same basic story is a good thing, however it has to have some of some of the great lines like Warriors Come Out To Play!, because that is what made the movie what it is.

won't those lines sound weird coming from other people? It'll be hard not to compare an actor saying a certain line in the 2006 version to the original (and best!!!!) actor saying it in the original (and best!!!!)

Here is how I see it:  The 1978 Yankees pulled off an amazing turn around to win the pennant and World Series.  The 1996 Yankees won the World Series and that was fine.  But it was a different team, manager, world.  I will never find a team as cool as Reggie and the boys in 78.  So the Warriors 79 we know is great and this new movie will be a different team in a different time.

Im not bashing the new one but yes, the 2009 conclave should be only the OGs. (original gansters  )    But come to think of it, if some New bloods decide to pop their noses in we could reinact the cleon beat down scene :badgrin:
