My dealings with Mezco,

They couldn't find my order number (a complex four digit number) but they've found it now. There are apparently many divisions in the company. Ajax is out of stock at the moment so I have to wait a while for that, and they said they'd get back to me. I think the problems lie with Club Mez because their customer support was really bad and delivery to the UK takes months for some reason. You might want to get some opinions from people in the USA. It's places like this that will help Mezco improve!!

Better support, Better links with the UK (I think they trade through Forbidden Planet here, so for people in the UK it might be best to order straight through them).

Currently bidding on a blue faced fury on ebay. I'm starting with the hardest one to get.

Thanks Swan for checking out the link. The vest is really cool. The company I work for gets all sorts of screen used items and props but out of everything I've been able to handle this is my favorite piece. I know it may seem pricey to some, but this is the real deal and they're extremely rare. I still can't believe that some costumer removed the original patch to use the vest on another production, but it must have happened not long after the Warriors had completed production and no one would have been aware of the cult status the film would (and rightly should) attain.

I just put it up on our site yesterday and wanted to give the forum members here first heads up on it because I knew if anyone would appreciate it, it would be you guys. I love this place by the way and have learned a lot more about one of my favorite movies from checking out the assorted threads and links (especially loved checking out the Extra Scenes that I'd never seen!). Cheers :)

Anyhow, the link we're talking about is two posts up and I'd be happy to provide any additional info to fellow Warriors fans regarding the vest.

Howdy Godfather. Thanks for the interest. Unfortunately we aren't selling duplicate patches at this time. Without licensing rights from Paramount I'm afraid that would be illegal. Getting a set or two done in order to restore the original vests we purchased from them is acceptable, but selling reproductions without owning or leasing the rights would probably lead to litigation.

I actually looked into trying to locate replica patches for the vest myself when we first obtained it but didn't have any luck at the time. When I researched getting reproductions done ourselves we had a truly incredible stroke of luck and stumbled across the custom embroidery house that had created the original patches for the movie and were practically down the street from us here in North Hollywood. Even more incredibly, they still had costume designer Bobby Mannix's original patch drawings from the film to work from. The reproductions were really expensive to get done because of set up fees but it was worth it because they were literally the exact same as the ones in the film and size matched perfectly over the faint stitch holes from the originals.

There was another member here that was selling pretty good looking repro patches a while back. I don't know if the dimensions were exact or not but the picture I'd seen looked pretty good. He had to stop because Paramount's legal department issued him a cease and desist order, but if you go back and carefully search his threads you might notice that he left behind personal contact info so perhaps a "private" message to him might yield results if you're just looking for patches.

Thanks again, and also thanks for posting the link to the vest in the Vest and Patches section. I wasn’t sure if the moderators would object or not and didn’t want to cause any trouble. If any one here doesn’t know what original screen worn Warriors vest we’re talking about, I’ll include the link one more time:

So there ya go! :)

Hey thanks for the info thegoldencloset.  I was wondering if you knew why the vest you have is lighter in color than in the movie?  Did it fade? Was the lighting in the movie the cause?

Also, it would be cool if it could be showcased at the Conclave '09 (if the Conclave happens or if the vest isn't sold).  I think Warchief would dig it, but I dunno, just a thought.

Hello again Godfather. The vest hasn't really suffered any noticeable fading that I could tell and was pretty much identical in color to the Cochise vest we had. It might appear slightly lighter in the photo than it actually is because we often adjust the brightness and contrast of our images to show more detail.

It would be a cool piece to display at the Conclave '09. I'm hoping it winds up in the hands of a hardcore Warriors fan though. Spread the word for me if you know anyone that would be worthy of it! Thanks again for asking about it too.
