Re: POST UR COMMENTS HERE ON WAT U THINK OF THE FILM
It has been my favourite film for years. It is fascinating how a fairly low budget and short film actually created a different reality/universe. Its funny really, when I was younger I thought all the gangs of NY actually looked that way!
Want to know what happened to the gangs of NYC after the death of Cyrus? Tune in to NYPD Gang Unit for more information.

It was an awesome film. My fave is Luther, the mysterious, crazy antagonist.

Re: POST UR COMMENTS HERE ON WAT U THINK OF THE FILM
i remeber when i first heard of the warriors... my boyfriend (warrior_swan
) told me about it. i knew it was his favourite movie and all and so he showed it to me one day when i was over his house. i couldn't take my eyes off the screen. when the credits started to roll, he turned to me and asked "so what did ya think?" and all that i could say was "that kicked my butt"... in not those exact words, of course ::).. anyways, from then on i was a fan. i got my tonsils out this past november and he let me borrow his dvd... i watched it basically everyday and often times more than once in a day!! i fell in love with it! today i can honestly say that i don't know what my life was like before The Warriors and i don't ever want to know a day without it!!! that's why i love it here... not only do i get my fix, but i can discuss the greatest that is The Warriors with people who not only just know the movie but LOVE IT as much (and more) than i do!!!!

I enjoyed the film because it was a fantastic comparison between the days of then and now. If only all gangs rolled like this today, rather than trash talking in their fubu jerseys and jeans hanging around their knees.
It's become one of my favourite movies and to this day I am introducing it to people who haven't seen it in the hope of increasing this awesome fan base!

I love the movie. Obviously we all do. I wish that this subculture would be embraced more by people in then entertainment world. My Leather jacket's off to Rockstar for trying to expand the Warriors realm with the minigames and history of the warriors. I wish instead of remaking the film in today's world with bloods and crips they should have spun off and showed some adventures for the Furies or something of the nature circa late 70's.

I saw this movie on cable many years ago, I was hooked. I waited for like two years for it to come on tv again so I could tape it, finally it did and my life has never been the same since. Thanks Walter Hill.

Re: POST UR COMMENTS HERE ON WAT U THINK OF THE FILM
Of course I loved the movie, I wouldn't be here if I didn't. I saw the movie first, then played the game, then I read the book. The movie was a total classic. I was very pleased with the game, especially how they showed how each member joined the gang. After reading the book, however, I felt that the movie changed some of the more interesting parts of the book, to make them more politically correct, heroic, and action-packed. Besides a little action at the meeting and during the park/botched rape scene, there was really no fighting at all in the movie.I understand that they had to add some action to capture audiences, but it leaves me to think how much better the movie could have been if it were more like the novel. They also changed the warriors from and all black gang in the book to a predominantly (55.5%) white gang. In fact, the majority of the gang members is the movie is also predominantly white. This was done because at the time of the movie's release, most moviegoers wouldn't have related, or connected with an all black gang. If you would like to see a more realistic, but not as interesting or action packed, depiction of New York's gangs in the 1970's, check out "The Education of Sonny Carson," 1974. The movie is about a young man in Brooklyn and the trials and tribulations he goes through as he falls into a life of gangs and petty crime. He later realizes thathis life won't change unles he rises above the violence, drugs and crime of his environment. The movie features some (REAL) legendary street gangs from NY such as the Jolly Stompers & The Black Spades. This movie also features The Tomahawks, One of the largest gangs in Brooklyn at the time. The actual leader of the gang (Derrick "Champ" Ford or Akbar as he was later known) played himself, or Wolfe as he was called in the movie. Roger Hill (The actor who played Cyrus)played the Tomahawks second in command, or Warchief, named Lil' John. If you love The Warriors and haven't seen "The Education of Sonny Carson" yet, it is no question a must see. Not as well directed, or acted out, the story and the realism of having actual gangs in the movie is refreshing. To check out The Tomahawks as well as other actual street gangs of NY in the 60's & 70's, check out this site and the others it is linked to. The adress is http://hometown.aol.com/nystreetgangs
You dropped the gun?!?! That is not gangsta, that is so not gangsta!
