Spider Man 3

Post by adam88 »

I just got back from seeing it.  I think most of you will be intrigued by the action sequences between heroes and villians.  Woe its amazing how far the spider man movies have gone.  I remember seing the very first preview of it in August of 2001 when I saw Jurassic Park 3.  Since it was before 9-11, I remember it starting as a bunch of bank robbers escaping in a helicopter and dragged by something.  Then you see them trapped in a giant web in the middle of the twin towers.  Man, this movie has gone far.  I love the realism of, Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson not living like rich lucky people in Manhattan.  Their people just like us, who have to wake up every day and make a hard living just like every one else.  I think thats what makes spider man special.

He did actually. He was simply describing the transition from the first one to the third and how it is the most "real" of all the superhero films.

Either way, I'm going to try to see it next week when I'm at college because it looks astonishing.

Spiderman 1 was good, number 2 was horrificly boring. Superman is still my favourite.

Count me in,I took the mrs to see it on Sunday night & she even ended up sheding a few tears, women  ;)
Overall all i thought the movie was great and the two and a half hours seemed to fly by, As has been mentioned it has lots of different Charecters (Thought Sandman was excellent) with a lot of Action,Romance and a bit of Comedy mixed in all made for a kick ass movie,Well worth a watch and i agree the Spiderman movies have come on leaps and bounds, but with the budgets they get you would expect that,So i'll give it ... 9/10  :p

Actually Scurvy Dog, by mentioning Peter Parker, and Mary Jane as working hard, I was breaking stereotype of rich people in Manhattan.  I was just merely depicting the stereotype that other movies give on people of Manhattan.  I know people in Manhattan work hard, my mother was raised there with a single parent and parents.  Its movies like this or Rent that speak the truth.  So actually I was defending people from there.  After all, the economy now is horrible, so I don't see anymore rich.

great movie. saw it yesterday, 10/10 way better than the first two, i cant wait for spiderman 4.  i hope tobey mcguire is still in it and everyone else that was in the last 3 movies. they should do a spider man when tobeys in his 40's and it shows how life is while being spiderman, a husband and dad, like the comics ive seen. i think in the comics when hes older he loses his leg in a fight, but i forgot who he was fighting.

Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst both have said they don't want to do another. and I for one don't think there should be another one the third one tied everything together perfect, anymore movies would just be beating a dead horse.

I thought ti was horrible. Flat out horrible. I wanted my money back because everything about it was stupid. The movie feels so horribly rushed, the transitions between scenes are not smooth at all. I wanted my time back as well, I could have used those 2 hours for something equally productive, like playing in the sandbox, which is where I imagine that the rest of the spiderman 3 fans are hanging out.

I Liked the first spiderman, loved the second, I was expecting more from this. I was slapped in the face though by spiderman 3, almost literally.

And here we have, 10 reasons why spiderman 3 is such a horrible movie

10. Fundamental character confusion: Peter Parker turns into a cocky,
flirting idiot for 45 minutes of the film... supposedly as a result of
some alien goo exaggerating his characteristics, which funny enough
also turns him into an angry emo/goth teenager.

9. Blatant American cheese: There is actually a shot where Spidey
lands in front of a waving American flag. I nearly choked on my straw.

8. Terrible acting: Just wait until you see Peter Parker and MJ cry
together at the end. It's really, really funny!

7. Awful plot exposition: At the climax of the film they cut back and forth between
a news reporter who informs us melodramatically about what is going on
in the skies above her. Her lines are "I cannot believe what my eyes
are seeing!"... and the audience shared this thought in despair as we
watched a $250m film plummet to its doom.

6. Tobey Maguire being all emo and dancing: My theatre roared with
laughter. I cried. I cried hard. I still weep when I think about it.
It's awful.... just awful.

5. The line spoken by character Eddie Brock (Venom) as he prays to
Jesus on the cross: "It's Brock sir, Edward Brock Jr. I'm here humbled
and humiliated to ask you for one thing... I want you to kill Peter
Parker."... I waited for Jesus to reply, but he seemed to have his
head bowed in shame... no doubt hoping that no one would recognise him
in such a bad film.

4. The most interesting villain (Venom) shows up in the last 15
minutes. The most boring villain (an angry sand dune) seems to simply
annoy Spidey all the through and then apologise at the end.

3. Too much time spent on special effects and not enough on the story.
The effects are good, but that should never be an excuse to give a
film a good rating.

2. It's a chick-flick.

1. The ONLY redeeming feature of this film is the performance by Bruce
Campbell as a French maitre d'. He is very, very funny. They could
have just released his scene and then put up an apology to the
audience that could have simply read...

The remainder of this picture isn't worth watching. You may now leave
the theatre. Thank you.

I think I see what some of you are saying.  You see I am not a biased person, I try to not make judgements.  But actually even one of my theater professor's at college said, that the movie didn't seem to focus on the development of Peter Parker like they did in the first film.  So perhaps, maybe people were dissapointed on the development of his character.
