Its amazing how these shoes were back in the day.  In the 70's they only cost $5.  It goes to show you how America was not greedy for money at the time.  You see even if something was popular back than, the rich, middle class, and poor were all able to somehow afford it.  I was told that, when a new cool style came out, everyone was able to posses it, and no one competed.  No matter who you were, everyone was able to look good, so matter what cast you were put in.

I have a pair of the Peruvian equivalent of Converse, they're called Derby's. My brother got them for me when he went to (surprise surprise) Peru!

I got a pair last wednesday for £15 and theyre already trashed from playing football in the rain :)
BUT the look is individual and cool, you see someone wearing them and you instantly recognise them.
I got some White-on-Black style ones  :D

Yeah, I got black Converses, old and about two sizes too big lol I love wearing Doctor Martins too, theyre comfy (and steel-toed). My brother must have about fifty to a hundred pairs of Converses and theyre all falling apart which he loves - one of his green ones it very literally held together my selotape.
Tell you what, Id love to wear Cochise's boots! Theyre lush and they look so comfy!!!

Yeah back in the 70's those sneakers (which I am wearing even right at this moment, never anything else) used to cost like 4-6 bucks and were popular with low-income/poor families, like I was growing up in Brooklyn. I remember in one store there were a million pairs just tossed into one huge box, you just fished for the size you wanted. Time passed and one day everyone decided that my favorite band, The Ramones, actually looked cool so all of a sudden those sneakers became "in" and "hip," and now I have to pay up to 50 bucks for a pair of hi-tops LOL.
Big Cyrus. He was gonna run the whole city...what crap that was.

If you haven't come across this yet, you can design the converse of your dreams here, have them made, and then delivered to your front door.  Warriors style wear will have to come in time though.
