When you get the film, an interesting fact is that the guy who plays "Mark" did a screentest for the role of Luke Skywalker in 1975 (I ave a bootleg of them, pretty cool).

ok guy's, help me out here, this movie sound's really familliar, but i just can't picture it. what's it about? is it horror? gangs? what? sound's like comedy, horror. like "student bodies" remember that dumb-ass slasher movie? but it was funny! lol "horsehead bookends!"

David is the new kid at Central High, to meet his old friend Mark. He gets depressed to learn Mark is now a member of the gang that rules the school, and Mark has it set up where David can join the gang. David wants no part of it however, and feels for the kids the gang always picks on, putting Mark in a tough place. What happens next is pretty amazing, as David stops the gang from picking on the rest of the kids, but then all the kids that were picked on now want to replace the gang as the new gestapo and rule the school themselves! It's a great examination of status and such, with one of the questions being, is freedom worth being granted to those who may abuse it. and is there actually a need for a gestapo to keep the minions in line? Roger Ebert even called this one of his favorite films!

S.H.M. I couldn't agree with you more. It is good to hear someone else explain what this movie means to them. There is something so special about it and I think it has a lot to do with the group of people that were chosen for the roles. I don't think anyone could have done a better job when it came to picking the right actors for each of the roles.

It would be good to hear from you S.H.M. I haven't seen you post since I have been a member and you have made some of the most thoughtful and interesting comments of anyone on this site. It would be good to hear that all is going well in your life.
