When the Warriors made it back to Coney...

Post by KillerMime »

Just one of those "what if?" questions but I always wondered why, when the Warriors finally made it back to Coney and they knew every gang in the city was looking for them and would probably be waiting for them, why didn't the Warriors call the rest of their gang together? In that original daytime opening scene, Cleon says there are about 120 or so Warriors.

Talk about a great alternate ending...the Riffs surround the Warriors and get ready to destroy them, then the other 100 Warriors come storming over the dunes.

I would have liked to seen an opening scene with the 100+ Warriors talking about the enclave and Cyrus and then the 9 representatives get picked to go. From a writing standpoint I think they did the end they did so the Warriors clearly get vindicated. I considered all the Warrios showing up at the beach with the Riffs but felt it would have been too easy to get a big war going with the Warriors never being exonerated.

I love everyone's different ideas for scenes. Shows there's lotsa creativity out there. :D

I actually think the producers did the right thing by axing out the original opening during the day on the pier. The writing wasn't very good, it just seemed too obvious, like "here are all the characters one by one" and "here's what's gonna happen."

The Wonder Wheel makes a perfect opening because it immediately establishes Coney Island. Also, maybe I'm reading too much into this, I took the Wonder Wheel it to be a symbol of the Warriors roundabout journey.

I guess if the rogues and The Warriors had actually foughten at the end it would have been pretty cool.

Yeah, a big fight would have been better than just swan chucking his knife into luthers arm

That's one of my few dissapointments with the movie, throughout the whole movie the first time I saw it I was expecting a big battle between The Warriors and The Rogue at the end. But instead Swan thriws the knife into Luthers arm and the Riffs come in and finnish it.

I would have liked to see a battle between The Rogues and The Warriros at the beach in which The Rogues get a bit of n upper hand and just when Luther's about to kill Swan the Riffs come and take out The Rogues.
SUPER HAPPY PINEAPPLE MAN!

yeah, for an alternate ending i think it should be a big showdown between the riffs, warriors and rogues, all battling it out.

I have to disagree... I really REALLY love when Swan cleans his knife on Luther's hair. Is one of the best scenes in the movie for me... unless we could see a huge fight with the 3 gangs, and then Swan cleaning his knife on everybody's hair... I stick with the original version. :)

yea the end should have had a little more altercation, say a spin kick knocking the gun out of Luther's hand and a warrior picks it up and hurls it into the ocean, a huge fight then the riffs show up as Prozium said like the cavalry and, Mercy? you got a thing for bloody hair? that stuff doesn't come out so easy lol J/K

I think the ending was perfect. I wouldn't touch a thing. Not to be blasphemus, but they might not have won. They were outnumbered and very tired, facing a confident group of well-packed Rogues. Don't get me wrong, 9 on 9 the Warriors destroy them, but the circumstance was grim.

I agree Lions like one last obstacle one last fight it would of been great then you could imagine like i alot of movies the villain after he or she takes a beating try one last thing with a gun or a weapon that when the original ended should have started after the fight.

I agree, the movie should end with a big, massive fight between Warriors and the Rogues. And then, after the Warriors would have won the fight, the Riffs should appear and Masai should say his famous qoute:'You Warriors are good, real good!'

I say the future is ours...If you can count!"
