Question about IMDB goof concerning The Fox ----

Post by StevenFallonNYC »

I was just checking out the IMDB goofs, adding my "street sign" goof, hopefully they'll post it. But about this goof with The Fox that someone posted there...

"Factual errors: Tom Waites' character is called "Apache" during the end credits and by Swan when he says "Apache, come with me.", before they talk to the Orphans' gang leader. Later on, Swan refers to him as "the Fox" when he returns to the 96th street station and asks Mercy about him."

Now, on my DVD (and yours I assume) in that scene, Swan clearly states "Fox, you come with me," and it's not even an overdub, his mouth is clearly saying that. And in the end credits, Fox isn't in there, let alone "Apache."

My question is, is there another version (TV version as I've never seen it, or early VHS version) where Fox is listed as "Apache" in the credits? And where does the "Apache, come with me" come from? And isn't The Fox "The Fox" in the opening deleted scene (which I can't find my disc right now to verify?)

Or is the person who put that up on the IMDB just pulling people's legs? I do know that submissions have to be approved, and I've sent in some stuff that was very true for some movies, some got posted, some didn't (disappointing). If this one is a fake and it got through, that's lame.

If this is from the early VHS release, I'd like to pick up a copy on ebay or something to see it.

Thanks!

ON A DIFFERENT NOTE -

I have never seen the TV version before and would love to grab a copy from a fellow Warriors fan if possible - not just for the deleted scenes but to see various cuts and edits, just how they did the whole thing onto television - if someone can help me out, please let me know, as I have been searching a very long time to no avail (2 people stiffed me on trades actually so far, I sent a video and got nothing back, people not from here though), maybe we can trade something or I can buy. Thanks!
Big Cyrus. He was gonna run the whole city...what crap that was.

Waites was never credited in the actual film credits as either "Fox" or "Apache."

An actor named Apache Ramos played the Orphans' 2nd-in-command. He was the character with the huge afro and the memorable line, "They write about our raids in the paper."

I alway thought that when Swan asked the Fox to join him in negotiations with the Orphan leader, that he said, "Facci, come with me." My guess was that Fox was supposed to be Italian and that the nickname Fox came out of the proper name "Facci." Swan also could have said, "Foxy, come with me."--never mind that Foxy doesn't really bring to mind the image of a tough gang member. The confusion could be due to a bad overdub.

That wasnt his line, Orphan leader says that. Id say his famous line is "we're gonna rain on you Warriors!"

Swan says "Fox", but with a kind of accent (sounds more New Jersey than New York to me). And the Fox's real name was Francis something, so that kind of disproves that theory.
When we get there; that's when we've made it.
