Film Crew Jacket on Ebay is it the real deal??

Post by Night Stalker »

Hey guys,
Any ideas as to this jacket listed on ebay. It looks a lot different then a prior cast stunt jacket sold by screen used sometime ago. Also the small embroidered Warrior patch just doesn't look right compared to anything seen in the past. Let me know what you fellas think. Peace out. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-WARRIORS-Vi ... Swv-NWU5g9

Looks like some old jacket with a cheap biker patch glued on the chest. Surely it would say "warriors", not "warrior" on the patch.
Has this jacket had a re-colour? Appears to be an orange/red showing through on the arms.
The sellers other items look legit. This, not so much.
The only blue jacket I can recall from the production photos, had press stud bits on the shoulders.

Hey there ND,
I noticed the color variation as well, looks like it bled out as though it was worn out in the rain once to often or washed with a harsh detergent. If you notice the patch has the slanted look of the Warriors logo with small bordering, yet I felt the same way you do as to why would it only say "Warrior". For all we know it could be an old High School teams jacket from the 70's/80's. Heck, my own H.S. teams name was the Warriors, (kid you not). That patch is so darn cheap looking even a High School jacket would look more elaborately done. Peace out

Don't look as nice as mine ;) https://www.flickr.com/photos/62721358@ ... 6834320065 If you look closely at the last pic on my link, it would appear that Michael and Deborah are both wearing those blue jackets with the press studs that ND mentioned.

Hey Cochese,
I'm pretty sure it will be stated he got it from someone who works in the industry. But aside from the downward curve to the Warrior emblem, it just looks so off as ND states "a cheap biker patch". But then again, I've put my foot in my mouth before. Now let me get this straight you also own a Cast/Crew jacket as well as a Cochese vest? Wondering where the press studs are in the last photo as I can't see them, maybe the ole' eyes just aren't focusing, (smirk).

Yup and not just those - also a necklace and armband :D The press studs appear to be on the shoulder, but I think ND's in a better position to confirm.

Bows down in appreciation of Cochese's noteworthy Warriors wardrobe collection. That's quite an ensemble of items! Should you ever tire of them or find that they're just takin' up way too much room in the house you know where you can send them, as I'm always ready to lend a helpful hand in freeing up space for ya (smirk). You know I think your orange cast/crew member jacket looks as good or even better then the vests, as the warbird "REALLY" stands out against the color.
Wanna find out what that seller tells you about their jacket as it just looks off. But you just never know as maybe they applied the term "Warrior" to anyone working on the set, it's just a far off thought. Peace out bro.

Well, there you have it!

"I don't know that this is a cast member's jacket. It probably isn't because I've already been told there was another, more elaborate jacket given to a member of the stunt crew. I obtained this from someone who worked in postproduction in Los Angeles after filming was completed."

So now it's just a matter of is the seller himself certain as to its authenticity? Wondering who he knew that worked postproduction in LA on the film. I'd like to believe it's the real deal, but that patch just looks so cheesey. Would make for a nice XMAS gift if I definately knew if it was real or not. But it looks nothing like your cast jacket Cochese, nor does it look like the stunt jacket as they both have warbird type emblems on the backside. "Scratching head on this one".
Ohhh yeah Happy Turkey Day (Thanksgiving) to all you folks. Gotta go shopping with the family later today and that can be more dangerous and violent then any fight scene in The Warriors, you folks stateside know what I mean  .

You got it Cochese it's yours! And for my gift please send over the Cochese vest. That's a pretty fair tradeoff, ha, ha.
The seller changed his ad as it now states in part: "This jacket was given to someone who worked on post production in Los Angeles, after filming completed in New York. I've had it for years and don't remember any more than that". So what's your take on the crew jacket, do you lean in the direction of authentic or not even close? Peace out.

Hmmm, I really wouldn't like to say, but I am sure of one thing: I won't be buying it unless he can authenticate it a bit better than that :?

There's a few clear shots of the blue jackets. You can see these have no breast patch but do have the press stud fastenings on the shoulders.
