Xbox or PS2...which system is the better of the two

you don't have either? is that why you're asking? it's usually a kind of personal choice, but i will say that the graphics, and the colors, and brightness, are usually better on the x-box. and i'm sure most here would agree with me.

But seriously, Xbox is better all round. Ps2 is only good for people who like games that have at least 5 in the series already. I.e: Tomb Raider.

PS2. Because I don't have an XBOX. Or I might hold out til PC.


After all, Xbox is only good for people who want to get a slightly better-looking version of a game everybody else has for more.

Massive Harddrive, no need to pay an extra £20 for a mem card.

There's even a way to bypass the thingy that doesnt allow you to record tracks from proper CDs onto the HDD without having to mess around with it.

Bells and whistles, my friend, bells and whistles. Custom soundtrack? Plug in my CD player and turn down the music. Hell, I don't even have to do that. "Start up winamp and turn down the music" is more like it. Most games these days let you turn down music and sounds seperately. And yeah, you got me on the memory cards, those things aren't worth that much money. Hence why I buy 'em second hand.

but when it comes to the PS3 & X360. ill probably get both. as they both look amazing and there's some games i cant wait to get. Elder Scrolls 4!! :badgrin:

The trouble is, I think the PS3 is the more powerful console but the XBOX 360 looks damn cool. the thing is with the PS3's shape, you could make it out of some dark hard wood and it would look like some retro console.

My 2 pence anyway.

heres my opinion-

xbox

pros- superior graphics,sound and brightness and some amazing features.

cons-memory in the machine? what if it broke? you would lose the memory and your xbox, and very big and ugly controllers.

what i think of the xbox-its desighn is bad and it doesnt have many good games(if halo is the best it can come up with im not very impressed). but some amazing features and graphics.

playstation

pros-small easy to use controllers,home to some of the best games in the world,dvd player,cd player and a games console in one(plus you dont need to buy a dvd remote unlike the xbox)

cons-inferior graphics light and sound, no custom soundtrack features......and those are some of the only things an xbox has that a playstation hasnt,so to be honest there isnt much differance.

but for those of you had a ps2 and switched to xbox and now find that the classic games like tomb raider,crash bandicoot,spyro the dragon,metal gear solid etc. are not available for xbox, well guess what? ps2 only no xbox allowed. so ask yourself what would you rather have? graphics or games? i know what id rather have.

i have come to a strange place in life.....i own both ps2 and xbox.....people say (and i tend to agree somtimes) that alot of the xbox stuff is better.....but i always hated the control....theres now a thing that lets me plug my ps2 controler into a xbox and play(Or gamecube if thats your style) so i really dont know what i will buy it for....guess i might rent it for both and compair before i put my money into it....im picky like that

I guess I havn't used the Xbox enough, I was so glad when they produced the smaller controllers....those fat ones should be banned. Anyway those graphics on the Xbox are great machine itself is a real ugly thing though.
I love my PS2 in terms of the warriors and other games like GTA + GT4 you cannot beat the gameplay of the PS controlers....one of the best designs of the modern age.

Well I dont have and XBOX. Just a simple PS2 and the sad thing is its going to go out soon. Games can take more then 2 mins to load now and hopefully it wont break when I get The Warriors.
