I really don't mean to go overboard, but do any of you believe in destiny, or fate?  Do you think that when ever you watch individuals such as the warriors, who are considered underdog type of people, that they were really meant to be part of something more complex?  Is it possible that life works in mysterious way, and that each individual from the warriors was meant to learn a life lesson from that important journey.  Do each of them re-focus their lives differently, sort of like how Swan and Mercy do on the train ride home.  Sometimes things happen for a reason, and they are inevitable unavoidable.  For instance, like Ajax's down fall, because of his thinking and actions toward women.  Maybe they all had their own unique reasons for joing the gang, and after that night all learned some sort of deeper meaning about themselves after that night.  Its just like in the old traditional native American culture, where they would put themselves in a trance after taking a drug to come face to face with their inner demons, and know what path in life they should take from here on in.  Or was it just another day for the warriors?

If it's true destiny is destiny, I also think things happen when you want: they to or... something different!!!
I mean a man "makes" his destiny... or better: 70% Man-30% Fate.
So about The Warriors I think all of them learned something very important about themselves, but to me Swan 4 istance was already thinking to change his life... Mercy or not... He told her about this in the subway tunnel... and visibly he had already thought about!!!
Perhaps ajax learned something, too!!!
Anyway 4 a lot of reasons, and I repeat your very good theory is one of them, so that wasn't just another day 4 The Warriors... just not!!! 8)

What really would be interesting is what would have happened if Ajax did not join Swan, Snow & Cochise after the cops scatter them at the 96th Street Station.  If you watch the clip as the cops move in to their subway car, Swan gives the word to go - Vermin, Rembrandt, Mercy, Fox, Cochise go one way and Ajax is about to go with them as well - but the cop tries to take a swipe at Ajax with the night stick, forcing Ajax to turn around and hook up with Swan, Snow & Cowboy.

IF Ajax went the other way, no Baseball Fury fight, no run in with the decoy cop.  And maybe Swan and Snow might have gotten away from the Furies, but Cowboy might have gotten racked, who knows.

thanks for the responds people, they really helped.  Well WildBoy, as you can see, thats one example right there that you just made referring to Ajax.  Its like certain forces compelled him to take that road into his inevitable fate.  Thanks everyone.
