IMPORTANT NOTE FOR NEW BLOODS ABOUT USING THE SEARCH FEATURE

First of all - thank you to anyone who reads this. Everyone here knows how searching before posting is important, and it's easy to overlook another topic about it.
However, this is important - I have noticed an important feature when I did a search that something I could have sworn had been in here once had "disappeared" (which has happened during times of board maintenance).
You apparently have to be on the main page to search all of the forums when using the search feature. For example: If you are on the 1979 Movie Board, to see if a topic has been posted, it will not pick up topics posted in "General Warriors Chat", where that topic MAY have been posted. I verified this by using search in one specific forum vs. the entire board, and it only popped up when I searched the entire board.
This may explain why we get so many "I used the search and didn't find this topic", when it's something that we've discussed dozens of times already.
Also, I did mention this in a different post (the New Jack Thread started by Tantive7, which if you haven't read, you should), but please try to search by more than one keyword. Sometimes a topic has been mentioned, but not using the word you're searching. For example: "lady in the park" or "cop in the park". Both are pretty much the same topic.
Also, a lot of us have brought this up before, but familiarize yourself with older posts. We've discussed a lot of different things here, and you might think you have something you've never seen here, but you won't know that if you don't read some of the older posts, from a few years ago.
Thanks for reading this. Hopefully, this will make your "searching" go more effectively.
