Question about the history of this forum

I've been here a while but there are still a few things I don't know about the forum, and couldn't find with a search or on the forum info tab. Maybe some of you originals here might be able to shed some light on these questions.
1. How long has this specific forum been in existence? I find posts going back to sometime in 2004.
2. Was the Real Live Bunch site a competing forum/site, and how many of you came here from there?
3. This isn't a history question, but about the ads on the main page - does this site make money if we click on those links? I know some sites do, and if we can help make money for the site just by clicking on the ads, we should be doing that.

I haven't been around here for that long, But I've known about this site for ages.
This exact forum has been around since 2003, I think? But I've heard from some people that there was a different one even before this one that belonged to the site.
And I don't even think that Real Live Bunch had a forum, I know it had a blog...

Real Live Bunch was a good site, although it didnt compete with our site.
It did close i believe last year or the year before it?

Mike (SHM) pointed this out a while back, just go to Warchiefs summary and he joined June 8th 2004. Fox on the 15th.
3 year anniversary coming up soon!! Congrads Warchief.
I liked the Real Live Bunch site to and found this through it but it was a step down from here.

The original forum only had approx 8 threads before warchief gave it an upgrade. The forum header used to be black and white with a red blood splatter effect if my memory serves me right. Like a lot of posters, I left posts as a guest. I didnt register until last year. I dont know if any of the original posters (with the exception of warchief and the fox) are still on here. Not that we use our original user names anyway. The only other regular from back then that i can remember was someone under the name of "The_Mime".
Im sure the real live bunch site was up and running before this one. No forum on there but it did have a busy guest book. The guest book had a period with a lot of flaming, so that may be a reason the site no longer exists. Hey warchief; Any chance you could put up some of the rare production photos from that site so that the newer members can get to see them?

1)I'm here (website) since 2003 and, if I have a good memory, this forum needed a registration since 2004, before that you could post without loggin in.
2) Real Live Bunch was an "homemade" website, it had a lot interesting materials and it was really nice, there was a guestbook and other good stuff... but these two sites did not in competition.
3) Surely, if we buy something trough the ads it receives moneys but dunno if clicking it has benefits.

This forum has been going since 2004, but there was a forum before that even of which the posts have been lost. There were probably a few hundred posts but the forum software was rubbish.
The Real Live Bunch site wasn't a competing site. I think they arrived on the scene shortly after I made the first incarnation of the site back in 2001/02.
The site does make money from the Google ads on the front page since it costs me about £260 / $520 a year to keep this place going. Fortunately, we get around 40,000 visitors a month and the site is self-sustainable. Before then I was relying on donations to the site, and without them, we might not be here now. So a HUGE THANKS to all those who paid out, you really do have a special place on this site!
