Forum Rules - Then and Now

After reading Kartoon's most recent post, I feel that we should really have a discussion about the Forum rules. I would really like to have the current forum members provide their thoughts and feedback on the rules.

My number one issue with the rules would have to be activity. I can understand back when there were several dozen people posting on this forum that it made sense to have a 5 post per day limit. However, we are lucky now if there are more than 5 members on a day at any given time. With this being the case, members who DO NOT post a certain amount should be penalized. Also, I feel the max post limit should be set to at least 10. With so little active members these days, this would make more sense to keep this forum alive. I do not see any young bloods really coming on here and trying to post their way up like what I heard used to take place back a few years ago. My point - back in the day there was so much activity that it needed to be turned away with the 5 post limit. However, times have changed and we shouldn't place strict limits on the active members that would like to post more daily. The activity is needed.

Any other issues about this rule or any others please share your thoughts here.

im more upset by the number of post that i see as 1 to 2 words

in addition to this the policy about bootlegging and illegal downloads .

im going to try to contact the big WC.

i know the mod team has been down for a while, and im not making a return but i will help mow this over and figure out what its going too tax

limited by the 5 post or not

until the rule is changed respect it

i don't have time to watch everyone, but if i see you max out i will ban you

until the rules are revised

weather the man is here or not

this is WC;s playground

he set the rules

respect them

when he returns....and he see the place in, well frankly as state of anarchy...this place may not even be here anymore

more changes coming i can assure you

and anyone who was breaking the rules

this is a good time to review and get with the prgram

i would also like to pioint out

when i joined this forum

pre game

there was a very small 10 or 15 person roster here

very small amount of people to post

we ALL RESPECT THE 5 POST A DAY RULE

make those 5 post worth it

i dont want to hear any reasons WHY anyone breaks any rules

i want to see people take ownership

and then fix it

There was a few more than 10-15 posters when you joined.  There was no 5 post maximum rule either way back then.  We didn't even need to register and could post as many times as we wanted as a guest.  Alot of members drifted over here from the reallivebunch site.  I've had a couple of user name changes over the years, but i've been here since the beggining.
Im used to the 5 post rule, so its not a major hinderance for me.  I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a trial period with the daily post ammount doubled while there's such a lack of member activity; just as long as we adhere to quality over quantity.  With how it is currently, we only need one mod checking in on here a day, as all the daily posts can be read in about 15 minutes.  Even the long term established vets that drop in from time to time have commented on how this forum is nearly dead.  Theres probably more active spammers than proper members.
Theres little reason to bump up the post count as the warriors rank only sections have been lost to the spammers.  A lot of the recent members are probably not even aware of the 5 word minimum rule, as I don't think it ever officially made it onto the rule board.  It was something that was always a courtesy rule between established members.
I can live with no changes being made, but I can't see the harm in having the forum reviewed by WC, if only its just to get the advertisment of having a shoutbox in the newsfeed.

i stand corrected, the number of people on the roster was high

the number of active was a very small group

in any event my time here isnt whats in question.

there was a post count when i joined, that everyone did very good with....i contacted WC. so we will see what we can do about changing. but i can see sense i have departed(and a bunch of other staff i see) that the place has some out of control members, not everyone but we need some order. im going to see what we can do about possibly some new mods to help whats left of the current team

ahhh shcuks!!! Thanks. I would vote you too tri!! I think if we are posting or conversating, we should be able to post as much as necessary. It is not like there is a lot of traffic and the core that is around, has good convos.

with a username like 4nik8, i'm sure u could have my pickle at attention as a mod.  Almost as good as when a member named "haterist" was trying to get a couple of sqaubbling members to get along.

IF there was to be a new moderator, It would be decided and picked by the existing moderators.  Theres no voting system.  Of the moderators we already have, there's at least one checking in everyday.  Scurvy Dog was here yesterday, Kartoon online a few hours ago. Gonzo and Grammecy sporadically.  Just because you don't see them, don't go thinking they're not watching.
