Outdoor screening of The Warriors (and True Romance)

Post by redwood »

Good news:
Outdoor screening of The Warriors.
Saw the advert on Film 4 last night and I noticed The warriors on the list :-)

More Good news:
Found the website and see it's a joint showing with True Romance.

Bad news.
SOLD OUT

Yeah, well shit it's sold out.

Would love to see as an outdoor big screen event.

Seen The Warriors loads of time on VHS, few times on TV, loads on DVD but only once in the cinema about 15 years ago in a small artsy type venue we have in Cardiff.

Would that cinema screening be part of a Stella Artois sponsored festival by any chance? That was around the same time I got to see it in the cinema.

I don't think it was. I think it was part of a classic series of films they were showing.

I remember asking for the poster or lobby cards they had but they said no as it had to go with the reels to wherever next.

I remember I saw "Dazed and confused" and "Menace II society" and "I.D." around the same time and at the same venue.
Just IMDB'd the films - 2 1993 and I.D. was 1995.

Man, even longer than than the 15 years or so I thought.

Thanks for the heads-up, buddy!! Peckham! Brixton! They're really going for that authentic "street" vibe, ha?! No one heard of North London? ;)
