Whats the perpose of being in a gang? You dont really get anything out of it accept maybe a busted lip and a few broken bones. Why would anyone join.

i think maybe because so people would stop bothering you or to get stuff u never could have.

Its the feeling of brotherhood for some. Why do you have certin groups of freinds at school or somthing. In jail if you havent alredy joined a gang on the outside it would be very helpfull to join on the inside even if its only for protection. Somtimes when your in a gang you feel ten feet tall and bullet proof. Theres strenth in numbers and if somone stats picking on you and about 10 more of you show up I think they will back off just a bitt. Yes I agree that you wont get very much out of being in a gang but listen to this. Your young looking for a way to rebel, you dont like school, you dont want to work, and your looking for action. Somone comes along telling you that if you join a gang you'll have protecection, a way to rebel against your parents, somthing to do,and all wile not working at a job. Would that sound good to you at that time?

Because you get to fight psycho ball players, mimes and chinese guys in funny hats.

somrtimes youth is forced into such delienquency! they may have been brought up in a bad neighborhood!well this all depends on what kind of gangs.. theres street gangs , hate gang, organized mobs ect. each standing for a different purpose or movement! some just like the rush too!great subject!

Good topic. Some do it for the rush, some for survival, some because of loyalty to others who joined. In some places people just do it becuase its such an engraved part of thier surroundings that it becomes a way of life, kinda like an unspoken tradition.  I think this is really something that just depends on the individual.

In a world that seems so complex and confusing we crave for some sense of purpose and belonging.  We all feel that we have certain destiny's that we must lead and accomplish, but feel that there is something holding us back in this reality.  Some do it for power, some do it for a spiritual journey, some do it for a sense of belongin, and some do it out of sheer bordom.  Some feel condused about the meaning of life and why they were put on this earth.  In a world that seems to put people in certain cast systems, it makes us feel that we are being domesticated by race, religion, sexual orientation, and any other beliefs.  We look for hopeful guidance from a group who can give us a sense of clarity and understanding.  To brake free from these worldly illusions and to create our own socity and reality of people of our own beliefs, of people who brake down walls and barriers, to see what else is out there.  How can I mold myself into the person that I want to be in a world that does not want to open its eyes to the true fruits of the universe.  So some gangs feel an urge to brake free from this so called body of a shell, and be reborn as people of their own free will and journeys.  To see whats out there and what life can truly give them.  Trust me, not all gangs are close to this, but from ones point of view, we feel that we must make our own balance in life.  If I do not express who I truly am than I merely do not exist.  So I join a certain group believing that a have a sense of invincibility, and justifiable goals that I will achieve in a crazy mad world of illusion, decieving.

im in a *crew* we like fighting but mainly we just muckaround because all the fools who say there in gangs(which were not because we dont have to defend any turf) wont fight without at least 20 extra people what pussys.
