As The Warriors get off the train at Coney, where are they going?

How did this end up in the Off Topic forums?
I was totally in the The Warriors (1979) forums.

It's a metaphor for NYC. Sometimes you get off at the wrong stop. So you get on the next train. But instead of the 4, you get on the 6 and now you're lost.
