I read TankGirl, and I'm happy that they revived the series, currently I have the first one "The Gifting" and am anxiously awaiting the second in the series.  Also I happened upon this great graphic novel at the library last week, "Honor Among Punks" a short series by Guy Davis and Gary Reed about an alternate earth storyline where WWI wasn't as bad and there wasn't even a WWII so the Victorian period never ended in England and technology never advanced as far as it did now.  The story is about a female punk Sherlock Holmes character and has an alternative Jack the Ripper story in it.

Back in the late 50s early 60s the barber that cut my hair would let me take a pile home everytime then trade them in the next time. Superman, Fantastic 4, Flash, Batman, Aquaman etc makes me sick to think of what they'd be worth today. (My Dad remembers picking up several #1 Action comics up in paper drives when he was a kid). Could retire on those.

In the 90s I picked up a fair amount of Superman #120 to #199, few Action, Superboy in fair cond to relive my youth and have them stuck back. Also got into the Valiant line for a little while.

Unfortunatley, comic books are harder to find nowadays because of it popularity.  If you are a true fan, then normally you will find underground places to keep updated.  Believe it or not I actually believe comics deal with issues of time.  For instance, when Harry Osborne was on drugs(major problem), or in a recent Captain America comic I got, you see Captain America, help an Arab American who is stereotyped as being a terrorist, aabout to be killed by a man eho lost his dhaughter in 9/11.  He explains that "we as people have to be stronger than ever", and band toghether a one.  Or when the Green Lantern was accused of being a racist, by a black man, who obviously has been through a lot.  He said "you help orange skins, purple skins, but no black skins>  The list goes on and on, such as batman explaining the danger of land mines during the crisis in Yougoslavia, and  how the X-Men is based on acceptience in this world.  I mean we even had comics on gays and lesbians.  o it deals with what the whole world is going through, and tries to give what Charles Xavier would say, "Hope".

As a 70's child, I would always be hidden in my room reading all the newest Marvels (never was into DC at all). My fave was Fantastic Four, followed by Spiderman, Hulk, and Iron Man. By the late 80's/early 90's comics were changing too much for my taste so I stopped buying them.

However, I am LOVING these new DVDRom sets of reprinted comics, where they print EVERY ISSUE up to the date of the disc's release. I have a bunch of them - Spidey, Captain America, FF (with the Silver Surfer comics too), Avengers...these are THE greatest thing for a comics fan, hundreds and hundreds of comics at your fingertips.
