The Warriors Movie Site Forum

Hey guys. I have been working on a new concept for a website for the last few days and I have now launched a beta. It's called Might Club and you can see it at http://www.mightclub.net.

It's a daily blog where you can choose who would win in a fight between two fictional characters. The first few I have loaded are Warriors-based of course - however the site will be more general going forward. I may add a dedicated Warriors section

As it's in beta, please expect some bugs in the poll system, web design, layout, and the connection to Facebook. Nothing shows up in Facebook when you join - it's just a way of making registering for the site/posting comments easier and to filter out SPAM.

I'm also doing some rearranging and updating on The Warriors Movie Site. I may look at vBulletin for the forum as there are still major problems with spambots and replies to certain messages not working.

Looking at who was online the other day, it said googlebot was sending a personal message. Didn't know they could do that.


Are you sticking to movie characters for the time being or expanding to any fictional? Theres some marvel comics ones on youtube and them arguments have lasted years.

They'd have followed the 'PM' link in someone's profile or next to a post, and been taken to a page that says something like "Only registered users can do this" but on the online list it would still show as sending a PM.

For forum software I recommend the free Simple Machines Forum (SMF). Very simple to set up and use, and lots of themes and modifications that can be installed at the click of a button. I've been using it for the past few years on a forum I run, having used vBulletin and IPB in the past. Can't say I've used phpBB though, so I can't compare it with this current site.

I think this forum was using SMF in the past (if memory serves me right) but we got hacked a couple of times.

Back on topic: Michael Myers vs Jason Vorhees.

Thanks for the suggestions - I have posted both up as fights on the site today. I do plan to go beyond movies and head into comics, books and games. I want to try and space out some of the big fights (Superman vs Spiderman) etc though I will inevitably be posting these "Showdowns". Check out the first of these on the site (suggested by Ninth Delegate).

I will look at SMF again - I just need to find software which is quick and able to filter out the spambots which seem to be able to read all the CAPTCHA words, even if it is impossible for a human to read!

Good one 9th. Seems like me and WAR-CHIEF are the only ones to not only vote, but also leave a comment. I think this is fun. Come on WARRIORS, get in to it. We can have some good discussions and the first bunch were WARRIORS characters.
