Hey guys,
i just watched this movie called "Paranormal Activity". which had this board called a 'Ouji Board'.
i was freaked out. & I also was wondering what a 'Ouij Board' was.
I've heard it's for talking to spirits or demons.
I dont know, but i heard its an evil board game for opening up a portal for demons & all kinds of creatures.
i dont know about it that much. im reaaaaaally curious about it.
can someone tell me what a ouji board can do?

just in case you plan to research it, the proper speliing is Ouija board
as to what it can do... absolutley nothing
but, like most cults, voodoo, and various other activities, it's the belief in such devices that carry the burden
here's a nice little debunker:
The Penn & Teller: Bullshit! episode on Ouija Boards ran an experiment using unbiased participants. Questions were being asked to the late William Frawley with very strong answers. The participants were then blindfolded and the board was turned 180 degrees without their knowledge. With continued questioning, the planchette then traveled to bare areas of the board where the participants (potentially spirits or the human mediums) believed the "Yes" and "No" marks were located.

Back in my childhood, we could buy ouija boards from toy shops. Can't remember which company it was (may have been mattel) but they were one of the bigger names in board game companies. The boards were marketed towards kids.
After the Exorcist came out and the rise of the home video generation, the ouija board was portrayed in movies as some sort of "tool of the devil" that always ends up raising evil spirits after comminicating with the dead.
Basically, its just a bit of wood with the alphabet on it and a yes & no (from which the board gets its name). You've got more chance of getting contacted by the dead via your cellphone than dragging an eye glass over some letters. And that idea has already been done by hollywood as well. Oh no, phones are evil. We're doomed.

No. Back in the early eighties, my government went through a faze of banning everything they deemed as a "bad influence". A massive list of horror movies were removed off shelves and all nunchaku scenes were cut for uk versions. If you owned an uncut copy, you were a playground hero. We were so glad to see the back of Marge Thatcher.
